Happy Halloween from Goodness Village! 🎃 Today, we want to give a big thank you to the amazing partners who made this spooky season so special. Angela Season 💃 and Elena Papageorge Rogers from KeyPoint Credit Union treated us to a fun Halloween brunch and photobooth, while the National Charity League, Inc. brought decorations and candy for our neighbors. And for the fourth year in a row, Crosswinds Church's children's ministry trick-or-treated through the Village, filling the day with laughter and joy. We’re so grateful for the continued love and support from our incredible community!

We're seeing things a little clearer after this past Saturday’s Optometry Day! Huge thanks to Dr. Kamena and his incredible team of scouts, who spent the day offering eye exams, frames, and lenses to our neighbors. This annual service brings a much-needed boost to our community, and we’re grateful for Dr. Kamena’s continued support all year round. Nature’s surprise snack! 🍐🌵 While walking around the Village, a neighbor and I spotted some interesting fruit on the tops of the cactuses by the creek. One 'phone a friend' and Google search later, we discovered they were prickly pears—ripe and ready to eat! We knocked one down and suddenly we had a sweet and delicious treat straight from our backyard (splinters included! 😅). Who knew we had such hidden gems growing right here?

Last week, we gathered for our annual Spaghetti Fundraiser at the wonderful Sunshine Saloon, and it was a blast! 🎉 A big thank you to our gracious hosts for the delicious dinner, to everyone who joined us for a night of food, raffles, and great company, and a special shoutout to our 50/50 raffle winner, Ray Solnick, who generously donated his winnings back to Goodness Village! Every dollar raised goes directly towards providing permanent, supportive housing for those experiencing chronic homelessness. Together, we’re changing lives!
