    I don’t think it would surprise anyone to hear that there is a continued disconnect or lack of trust from Employees when it comes to HR… but how bad is it? 🙀 According to recent surveys included in this HRMorning article: ⚠️43% of small business employees don’t feel comfortable confiding in their HR departments, and over a third flat out said they don’t trust HR at all 😳 ⚠️85% of employees are hesitant to approach HR to discuss work-related issues ⚠️86% admitted to being afraid of HR representatives Something has got to change! But it won’t be easy. I started my career in HR 15 years ago and have been swimming upstream against the HR “norm” because of my own experience with HR. One of the reasons I chose HR and started my business is because I never wanted anyone to ever go through the struggle of hating their job or working in a toxic environment that literally makes them sick from stress. (I had regular panic attacks just driving into the parking lot!) Trust me when I tell your there ARE good HR people still out there. These are the ones trying to disrupt the patterns and create the type of experience that honors mutual value exchange and the employee experience, not just be known as the “fun police”. As you can imagine it’s quite the mountain to climb. 🧗 BUT- Rather than focus on the negative- I’d love to hear a GOOD or POSITIVE experience you’ve had with HR!     On July 1st, the minimum wage increased to $12 in Nevada and DAILY OT is now in effect! This means employees working MORE THAN 8 hours in a 24 hour period AND making less than $18 per hour is entitled to receive OT. Non-exempt (hourly) employees making $18 or more and working more than 40 hours in a work week remain eligible for overtime pay. ‼️There are NO exceptions if you run 12 hour shifts! You must pay OT for 4 hours of that 12 hour shift since it exceeds 8 hours in the period. If you and your employee mutually agree to work 4/10's then you are not required to pay daily OT but there are still caveats!🫠 👉🏻Comment or DM me with questions!     What do I think all successful companies have in common? Consistency. 🎯 Whether it's your sales/marketing strategy, branding and messaging to your ideal audience, or managing the people and culture side of your business, the not-so-secret #keyingredient comes down to consistency. To me, consistency means showing up and setting the standard of who you are (as a company or person) and what people can expect every. single. time. #Consistency is also where I see small businesses get tripped up and get themselves into sticky situations that could have easily been avoided, especially on the people side. Here are a few examples of when consistency can make all the difference: ✔ Compensation/pay practices ✔ Onboarding/training practices ✔ Performance measures/expectations ✔ Actions and behaviors, especially from leaders ✔ Communication ♻ Creating systems to increase consistency in each of these areas can help you avoid costly employee turnover, eliminate fear or uncertainty and instead build a culture of #trust and #confidence. Consistency is a lot easier to establish than you think and trust me, it will be worth your time (and money)! 🤑 #hrtips #4coresystems #fractionalHR #systems #processes #smallbiztips
