Stearns County Wins Award! We’re happy to share that the Stearns County Human Services Dept. has earned national recognition for its innovative family and children’s services. The Juvenile Community Action Team (JCAT) received a 2024 Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo) as the top program in the children and youth category, out of over 2,000 applicants. Established in 2022 in response to rising child welfare cases during the pandemic, JCAT collaborates with schools, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and more to support at-risk kids and families. By intervening early, the team has significantly improved outcomes, reducing the number of children in out-of-home care and saving the county over $400,000.
