We are thrilled to welcome Bahiyyah Maroon Ph.D. as Goodwill Central Florida’s new Vice President of Mission Impact. With over 15 years of experience leading social good organizations to create positive change, Dr. Maroon has provided strategic insights to global powerhouses such as Intel, the U.S. Departments of Justice and Labor, Harvard University, and Columbia University. She holds both an MA and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and is the author of Black Lives, American Love (Chicago Review Press, 2023), a collection of essays on social justice and resilience. Dr. Maroon’s extensive background includes nearly six years at Polis Institute, where she served as Chief Data Officer and later CEO, guiding data-driven solutions to community challenges. President & CEO Ed Durkee says, “Dr. Maroon's unique blend of personal and professional experiences will elevate our mission of 'Building Lives That Work.'
