📰 A new article by the Golisano Institute's Holly Brown, DNP, RN, PMHNP-BC, PMHCS and Janiece DeSocio, PhD, RN, PMHNP-BC, FAAN explores the impacts of ableism in psychiatric nursing and ways clinicians can prevent ableism and begin to close the mental health equity gap for people with IDD. 🧠Mental health conditions are prevalent among people with IDD. An estimated 35% of this population has a mental health disorder, including affective disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, impulse control disorders, and major neurocognitive disorders. https://lnkd.in/efYmqhbJ
