Last month, it was a pleasure to speak at the Gen Z Summit Africa during a panel session on “Uniqueness in the World of Media, Technology, and Entrepreneurship.”
I had the opportunity to share my insights on how Generation Z can stay ahead, adopt, and innovate with emerging technologies like AI. My key message was simple: Never stop learning and build on the latest technology. The infamous question, "Will AI take our jobs?" was asked, and my response was clear, jobs will not disappear; they will only evolve.
As a youth-led organization and partner of the #GenZSummit2024, Cybersecurity Education Initiative (CYSED) had the opportunity to introduce the Advocate4Cyber initiative, where we advocate against cybercrime and for cybercrime prevention, particularly because many young people especially Generation Z are tempted to dabble in cybercrime due to peer pressure and other societal factors.
We also discussed cybersecurity challenges that are prevalent and peculiar to Generation Z, such as #cyberbullying (a social label called "dragging") and #sextortion, and shared safety tips from the Global Cyber Alliance #CyberFlex portal—a platform designed to help young people protect themselves from scams and cybercrime and also level up their online safety.
It was also a pleasure to share the panel with Orifunke Lawal, Afolabi Sokeye, Victor Fatanmi and meet Oluwatoyin Banjo (M.Sc, CMC, FIMC, Ph.D-in-View) and Francis Imariabe
A big kudos to Yinka David-Kaiyewu and Purpose-Drive Global 🌍 team for the job well done and this fantastic initiative.
