Yep you guessed it! Hispanic Heritage Month was originally a week-long celebration in 1968 observed during the week that included September 15 and the 16th. President Lyndon B. Johnson then expanded it to a month-long celebration from September 15th to October 15th in 1989. This was a very important proclamation for Hispanic people and culture, a vibrant community that is worthy of recognition every day of the year.
