Glenn Agre secured a significant win for unsecured creditors in the Chapter 11 case of AmeriFirst Financial, Inc. The team, which included Andrew Glenn, Kurt Mayr, Malak Doss, and Naznen R., obtained derivative standing for the creditors’ committee to pursue claims against lender Reverence Capital Partners on behalf of the debtors’ estates, unlocking significant potential value to benefit all unsecured creditors impacted by the transactions. Glenn Agre has secured a precedent-setting appellate victory on behalf of a cyberfraud victim in her negligence lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase Bank. On July 11, 2024, the Appellate Division – First Department issued a decision affirming the denial of Chase Bank’s motion to dismiss the complaint. The First Department, addressing novel issues of law, held that Chase Bank owes a duty of care to its customers to abide by its own anti-fraud policies and procedures. We are proud to have obtained this result and to hold global financial institutions accountable to their customers.
