Using HIV to diminish any person is revolting, and dangerous to everyone’s health and safety. Rhetoric like this drives the stigma that fuels HIV, full stop. This kind of rhetoric reveals the need for accurate information about HIV — it is preventable with a pill, treatable to the point of undetectable and untransmittable (U=U), and people living with HIV go on to live long and healthy lives. We need everyone to use their voices, talents, and all available platforms to speak the truth about HIV, instead of using HIV as a political weapon. HIV can be defeated if we work together to elevate these truths, eliminate stigma, and treat people with respect and dignity. https://lnkd.in/e3f6t3YK

Introducing GLAAD’s ALERT Desk – Anti-LGBTQ Extremism Reporting Tracker – a central hub for data, resources, and original reporting on hate and extremism impacting LGBTQ people in the US. The ALERT Desk tracked over 1,850 anti-LGBTQ incidents in the US, corresponding with a 112% increase in anti-LGBTQ hate from June 2022 – June 2024. LGBTQ people were unfortunately again not included in the conversation between two VP candidates who have extensive LGBTQ records to talk about. The issues discussed are LGBTQ issues and everyone’s concerns: the right to make our own private health care decisions, how best to support parents and families, and the right to have our votes counted and certified. As ballots arrive and early voting opens, it is now on every LGBTQ voter to fully familiarize themselves with the facts and records to ensure their vote leads us toward a safer, more prosperous future for all LGBTQ people and our allies. Celebrated in October, Filipino American History Month honors the history, pursuits, accomplishments, and legacy of Filipinos in the United States. The Filipino American National Historical Society established Filipino American History Month in 1992.In November 2009, Congress passed a resolution officially recognizing October as Filipino American History Month.

October is LGBTQ History Month, which celebrates the history and achievements of LGBTQ people. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Throughout LGBTQ History Month, GLAAD will be spotlighting some of the LGBTQ pioneers, change makers, and trailblazers whose stories and achievements remain instrumental in understanding our shared history.

September 27 is National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NGMHAAD) which to increase awareness of the impact of the HIV epidemic on gay and bisexual men in the United States and encourage HIV testing, prevention, and treatment services. #NGMHAAD
