Advocating for causes that build a better world for kids may feel daunting – but it doesn’t have to be. Sometimes you just have to ask for what you need. Take it from Agustin, whose advocacy helped create an amazing inclusive play space in his neighborhood. Read more of Agustin's story at gillette.mn/agustin. Is inclusive play imporant to you, too? Head out to an inclusive play space near you during the #InclusiveDayofPlay on Saturday, July 27! Find a map of play areas, resources for organizing, and tips for facilitating play at inclusivedayofplay.org!

Earlier this year, 16-year-old Hana discovered she needed brain surgery. "You never know when you might need a brain surgery," she recounts in this eloquent poem she wrote at Gillette Children's a month after surgery. Hana shares her fears and her recovery. "You never know when your next accomplishment is going to be. You will find it, exactly like you rediscovered yourself." #LiveYourStory

Kylen has always loved baseball, but he was having trouble finding a batting helmet that fit him properly. His mother Kelly eventually contacted our Orthotics, Prosthetics and Seating Department and talked to provider Nick Anderson. After getting Kylen’s head measurements, Anderson was able to custom modify a Rawlings baseball helmet with carbon 3D printed foam padding. It now fits Kylen like a glove! The North Dakota resident can’t wait to hit the baseball diamond!

Straight out of residency, Peter Ladner, MD, knew he wanted to start his medical career at Gillette Children’s. “I had known about Gillette growing up in the Twin Cities. In my last year of residency, I rotated through Gillette as part of a complex care rotation. I met providers engaged in the type of care that I thought would align well with my own interests and with my medical training in internal medicine and pediatrics, and I was really impressed by all the resources Gillette provides [to our patients],” he shares. https://lnkd.in/gNKkV_kf
