Several years ago, I was scratching around at McKinsey figuring out my partner platform. I knew that I wanted meaningful client impact, great colleagues, and more flexibility, but I could not see how to get all three of those at McKinsey. A friend took me out for breakfast and, over eggs benedict and orange juice, told me about the niche leadership consultancy she had joined.   It was called ghSMART and it all sounded far too good to be true. Good-hearted colleagues. Clients who deeply valued the work. People living full lives. I left the breakfast sceptical but couldn’t stop thinking about the opportunity.   Five years, three children, and two continents later, I’m proud to lead ghSMART’s Australia office.
