Time is a precious resource, especially for dual-career couples. When one partner consistently has less time for self-care, hobbies, or simply unwinding, it leads to long-term stress and resentment. And on average, men have more leisure time than their spouses.  The GEPI report indicates that mothers, in particular, report higher levels of stress due to these imbalances, which negatively affects their mental health and overall well-being. Addressing this imbalance is not about "helping out" but sharing responsibilities fairly. Research suggests that couples who achieve a more equal distribution of household tasks report greater relationship satisfaction and lower levels of conflict. Here are six ideas for husbands to take the initiative to close the free-time gap, improve their partners' quality of life, and strengthen their relationships. The link to the post with the details is in the comments. - Modern Husbands

It’s #WorldMentalHealthDay—a day to bring awareness and advocacy to mental health and the stigma that still surrounds it. The more we talk about it, the more we normalize it. The more normal it is, the more people will feel comfortable sharing and seeking the mental health support they need. Ipsos conducted a study across 31 countries to uncover some hard-hitting stats: ➡️ It’s estimated that 1 in 5 adults live with a mental illness ➡️ In the past year, 39% of people say they’ve taken time away from work due to stress ➡️ 58% of people globally think about their mental wellbeing often ➡️ 78% of people think mental health is just as important as physical health ➡️ Women are more likely than men to report stress impacting their daily lives, and they’re more likely to say they felt depressed to the point they felt sad or hopeless almost every day for a couple of weeks or more Let's talk about it. Put your mental health first—today and every day. 💙

Feeling overwhelmed by your to-do list? Struggling to balance home, work, and everything in between? Here’s a simple approach that might help: ✅ Do: focus on what’s truly urgent. 📅 Defer: pause non-urgent tasks without the guilt. 🤝 Delegate: don’t do it all yourself—ask for help. 🗑️ Delete: let go of what doesn’t matter. Whether you're a parent juggling it all or someone managing ADHD, this framework could shift how you tackle your day. ⏳ Read the full article about the 4D framework here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gFSJEUJm #timemanagement #4Dframework #getcoexist

Back-to-school season is here, and while it may seem like parents get more time for themselves, the reality is often the opposite. A study published last year showed that during the school year, parents—especially moms—spend more time caregiving, lose sleep, and have less time for themselves. But there's an opportunity here. Instead of just tallying time, what if we used this time to reassess how tasks are shared? The Coexist app, in collaboration with The Fair Play Policy Institute, is here to help families navigate the school year with ease. By reshuffling tasks and responsibilities, you can create a more balanced and equitable approach to managing your household. Eve Rodsky's Fair Play cards are a great way to start those conversations. Whether it's managing school supplies, homework, or teacher communication, it's crucial to check in regularly and adjust roles as needed. Use the Coexist app to stay organized and make sure tasks are shared fairly as life shifts. Let’s set our families up for success this school year by sharing the load. How will you rebalance the division of labor in your home? #BackToSchool #FairPlay #CoexistApp #MentalLoad #CaregivingEquality #FairDivision #ParentingLife #SchoolYearPrepared Read the full blog post here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gSPyGgfh

Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy issued an important advisory highlighting the stressors that impact the mental health and well-being of parents and caregivers. A brief excerpt from the advisory: Parents in the United States are overwhelmed and burned out with the “dizzying pace” of the world, and it’s a public health concern, according to a surgeon general’s advisory released Wednesday that calls for shifts in policy and cultural norms. [...] What’s needed is a culture shift, the advisory says: “It’s time to value and respect time spent parenting on par with time spent working at a paying job, recognizing the critical importance to society of raising children.” This raises an important question: How can we truly value and respect caregiving and other domestic work if we that work continues to be invisible? At Coexist, our mission is to lighten the mental load by making housework more visible, collaborative, and automated. Let's build a culture that genuinely supports and honors the essential work of caregiving. Read the full advisory here 👇 https://lnkd.in/g5KqiDkM
