October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Access to safe, stable, and affordable housing is one of the most urgent concerns for survivors of domestic violence, and often determines if they leave an abuser – and if they LIVE. That’s why we’re building affordable, supportive housing for domestic violence survivors and their children on Long Island—with our partners New Ground Inc. and The Kulka Group. There is almost NO such housing in Nassau and Suffolk Counties and the need for this housing is great, across all of NY. We encourage you to support New Ground Inc.—an organization breaking the cycle of homelessness for veterans and families for over 33 years. Their annual Groundbreakers Gala on November 14 at the Garden City Hotel—honoring Devin Kulka, Elise Henry and Evol Sweeney,MA. To register or donate visit: bit.ly/newgroundgala24

Georgica Green Ventures is very proud to have developed Highgarden Tower with our incredible partners including New Destiny Housing Corporation. Read more about New Rochelle’s newest supportive and affordable apartment development.
Last week we celebrated the official opening of Highgarden Tower, the first supportive housing residence for survivors of #DomesticViolence in New Rochelle and our first development outside of New York City. Built in partnership with Georgica Green Ventures LLC, and in collaboration with RXR, the master developer of Downtown New Rochelle, Highgarden includes 219 affordable homes, with 77 designated for domestic violence survivors. New Destiny’s social services team will provide on-site case management, financial coaching, and therapeutic activities, which are funded by the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative through the NYS Office of Temporary & Disability Assistance. Highgarden was developed thanks to the generous support from New York State Homes & Community Renewal. It features parking, two community lounges, laundry facilities, a gym, a storage room, a children’s playroom, and an adjacent green space. Event speakers included David Gallo, President of Georgica Green Ventures; Commissioner RuthAnne Visnauskas, CEO of New York Homes and Community Renewal; Kelli Owens, Executive Director, New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence; Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert; George Latimer, Westchester County Executive; Blanca Lopez M.S., Commissioner of Planning for Westchester County; Adam Salgado, Commissioner of Development for New Rochelle; Joseph Graziose Jr., Executive Vice President of Development Services, RXR; our Executive Director, Nicole Branca; and New Destiny Board Chair, Nicole Firment. As our Executive Director, Nicole Branca, stated: “We are thrilled to partner with RXR and Georgica Green Ventures on Highgarden Tower. This beautiful new building includes 77 affordable apartments for families in need of supportive services. Major thanks to the New York State Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI), through whom we will have onsite services to ensure that tenants have the resources they need to build secure futures for themselves and their children.” New Destiny would like to thank the Westchester Department of Social Services, the Westchester Office for Women, and the many entities and individuals who made this project possible. We’d like to especially acknowledge Oliver G. Chase and Erin M. Durkin at Hirschen Singer & Epstein LLP for their legal expertise and valuable assistance. We’re pleased to share The Grove Apartments groundbreaking ceremony and remarks—held in East Patchogue on May 17. The Grove is a 55 unit, mixed-use affordable and supportive housing development in East Patchogue. From our President, Dave Gallo: “A groundbreaking requires vision. In this case, it was the vision of Focus East Patchogue, the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County and New York State Homes & Community Renewal. It was the vision especially of our partners at New Ground Inc. and The Kulka Group, who saw not a blighted site, but all of its potential—Sunday breakfasts, movie nights, birthday celebrations. All of the life that will happen here, in safe, beautiful, affordable housing for its residents. I speak on behalf of the whole team at GGV when I say how grateful we are that they saw us as the ones who could help make that vision a reality.” #georgicagreenventures #supportivehousing #affordablehousing For more info visit https://lnkd.in/e9YR4bf3

GGV’s Riverview Lofts is the subject of the Council on Developmental Disabilities new video, “Housing for People with Developmental Disabilities: A Success Story.” In 2019, The NYS Council on Developmental Disabilities partnered with the NY Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation on a housing grant call "Statewide and Regional Housing Collaboratives." Through this 5-year project, the NY Alliance had conversations around New York State on how to better support people with developmental disabilities in finding housing of their choosing. Riverview Lofts is a shining example of how people coming together can make developments like this happen. Our President Dave Gallo, along with residents and many stakeholders who have contributed to the success of this life-changing development share about collaboration and the positive way Riverview Lofts is making a difference. Georgica Green Ventures proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting of Manhattan Avenue Senior Apartments with our valued partner—the Greenburgh Housing Authority—on April 3, 2024. This beautiful new building with 70 units replaced six dilapidated buildings with 30 units. Existing tenants were relocated during construction and have now returned to live in, and enjoy the new complex—many attending the ceremony. New York State Homes and Community Renewal Commissioner RuthAnne Visnauskas shared in the press release: "The Greenburgh Housing Authority and Georgica Green Ventures more than doubled the capacity of this development while preserving the area’s scale and open space, proving that good design and a commitment to helping to solve our housing crisis work well together.” #georgicagreenventures #seniorhousing #affordablehousing
