The 46th Annual Joint Meeting between the Southeast U.S.-Japan Association (SEUS-Japan) wraps up today in Charlotte, North Carolina. The conference supports innovation and growth between the Southeastern United States and Japan. Last month, Shinsung Petrochemical announced an investment of $11.2 million in a new facility in Toombs County, creating over 30 jobs and further expanding Georgia’s automotive supply chain. A major development for Georgia’s energy industry. TMC Transformers USA Inc., a leading manufacturer of dry-type transformers, is investing more than $15.3 million in a new manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, creating at least 110 new jobs in Burke County. “After meeting with TMC's leadership in Italy, we were truly impressed by their warmth, hospitality, and enthusiasm for their decision to invest in Georgia. The transformers TMC will manufacture in Burke County are critical in addressing energy infrastructure needs for the state and the nation,” said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. Earlier this year, Governor Brian Kemp met with TMC leadership at their headquarters in Italy, where they discussed the company’s plans for growth in the U.S. and Georgia. Another significant investment in Georgia’s future! Governor Brian P. Kemp has announced that American International Group, Inc. (AIG), a global leader in insurance, will establish a new innovation hub in DeKalb County. This expansion will triple AIG’s current Atlanta-area office space and create more than 600 new roles over the next five years, growing their local workforce to over 1,000 employees.
