Since Gensler opened the doors to its new San Francisco office last year, employee attendance has steadily increased. The architecture and design firm has dubbed the new 45,000-square-foot space its “office of the future,” having meticulously planned the workspaces to meet the productivity needs of a modern, hybrid workforce. The company hopes the layout will serve as a useful blueprint for other employers and hammer home the important role workspaces play in employees’ desire to be in the office more. Design is a crucial element for those who are mandating a return to the office, but it can often still be overlooked, experts say. “The power of place has influence on people’s behavior in being able to bring people together and to think outside of your normal being,” said Kelly Dubisar, IIDA, principal, design director and regional design experience leader at Gensler.

As climate-related risks grow, the resilience of research laboratories is more critical than ever. From power outages to extreme weather, the potential for damage to valuable research and hazardous materials is high. Gensler’s Mitsy Canto-Jacobs explores how integrating climate risk assessments into lab design—through resilience checklists and compliance with codes—can safeguard both operations and investments. https://bit.ly/49WMN3N #ResilientDesign #ClimateRisk #Sustainability

Designed by Gensler, C·PARK Haisu is envisioned as a cultural destination to catalyze a vibrant new neighborhood adjacent to the Liu Haisu Art Museum in Shanghai, and strengthen the evolving art scene of the district, the city and beyond. This 110,000-square-meter mixed-use development is an urban oasis where people, art, nature, community, and space are highly integrated. Gensler crafted a permeable space that breathes diversity, vibrancy, art, and nature into the community fabric. The design maximizes the site frontage by “lifting up” the volume to create a central floating courtyard for hosting unique retail experience, creating urban passage, and optimizing natural light exposure. With a multifaceted approach to operations, the project is eco-friendliness, caters to pet owners with comprehensive pet management, healthcare, and food services, and fosters a culture-friendly atmosphere with immersive experiences that complement the nearby Art Museum.  Since its official opening in September 2023, C·PARK Haisu has hosted 35 fashion and lifestyle events, drawing over one million visitors and successfully converting foot traffic into significant consumer spending. With 100% of its office and retail spaces fully leased, the development has achieved a remarkable one-third reduction in its expected payback period.

We are delighted to announce that our proposal to revitalise 110 The Queen’s Walk has received planning approval. As one of the most significant transformations of a London landmark of our generation, we look forward to designing a sustainable and inclusive mixed-use destination that ushers in a bold new vision for the city. Today, Gensler is proud to celebrate the beginning of a brand-new arena experience at Capital One Arena.   Together with Monumental Sports & EntertainmentClark Construction Group, and CAA ICON, we’re blending innovation, history, and community to reimagine what an arena can be.   Drawing inspiration from the L’Enfant Plan, this project transforms the historic heart of DC into a vibrant, walkable urban core. The new People’s Plaza will serve as a year-round civic space, bridging the Mall to Shaw and honoring DC’s legacy as a central meeting place. The design takes cues from the Portrait Gallery to create a façade that unites the arena with its surroundings while energizing the entertainment district.    For fans, enhancements cater to all demographics, ensuring accessibility, comfort, and engagement for everyone. Expect social decks with views of the arena floor on multiple levels, larger concourses, more dwell space with new food & beverage options, new seating opportunities for all levels of guests, and enhanced technology throughout the venue.   Upgrades for the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals include larger locker rooms, expanded recovery areas with cutting-edge hydrotherapy pools, player lounges, and so much more. This is more than a renovation—it’s a celebration of culture, community, and innovation. We’re proud to shape the future of this iconic space in the heart of DC. Let’s build something monumental together!

As long-time neighbors, the owners of Talyard Brewing wanted to share the fun, friendship, and their passion for craft brewing outside of their shared backyard fenceline. Introducing a new craft beer brand and a new destination to Sugar Land’s Imperial neighborhood, the two families partnered with Gensler to create a family- and pet-friendly backyard vibe for enjoying food and beverages indoors and in the outdoor beer garden where multiple activities amplify their business mantra, including pickleball, lawn games, kid’s playground, food truck courtyard, and a stage for live entertainment. #Retail #HumanExperience #Brewery
