Attending WSIA (Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association) Annual Marketplace in San Diego, CA as a Top 10 Intern was a truly incredible and unforgettable experience! Marketplace truly captures the essence of our industry—relationships. It’s a unique opportunity to connect face-to-face with clients and partners from across the country (and world!), and strengthen the bonds that drive business forward. I’m deeply honored to be named a Top 2 WSIA Intern and to receive the J.H. Blades Scholarship. I owe this achievement to the mentorship of Maddie Beja, as well as Greg Woods, Logan S. Krause, CRIS, Milan Arpino, CPCU, and Rick Childress. A special thank you Maddie Beja, Hannah Huggins, ASLI, Matt Blessing, CIC, and Alex Wright for welcoming me into their busy schedules and sharing their knowledge—I learned so much while shadowing their meetings. I am especially grateful to Christine Timmerman and Denise Marshall for their unwavering support and guidance throughout our internship. Their dedication to our intern class has truly made this experience exceptional. As a J.H. Blades Scholar, I’m excited to spend three weeks in summer 2025 interning at Lloyd’s of London—the birthplace of modern insurance. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to immerse myself in the heart of the industry. I will represent The Sorrell College of Business at Troy University and the WSIA Internship Program with immense pride!
