What an amazing evening in NYC! 🌟 Future Back Ventures (FBV) teamed up with First Round Capital Partner and Bain alum, Hayley Bay Barna, to host an event for early-stage Bain alumni entrepreneurs on Tuesday night. The Head of FBV, Ann Scott-Plante, facilited a panel discussion of former Bainies and successful founders, Adam Braun, Jeffrey Raider and Sarah Miyazawa LaFleur. They shared countless insights, some in-line with conventional wisdom and other, more unique perspectives. Today, I’m incredibly excited to announce Mako AI- the world’s first AI Investment Associate. Our team is backed by Khosla Ventures and comes from Bain, Glean's Founding Search team, Scale AI, C3 AI, Salesforce, AWS, Stanford, and UC Berkeley (Shivaal Roy, William Peng). A few years ago, while working in Bain’s Private Equity Group, I had a moment that changed everything for me. I was leading a deal looking at a company that sold solutions to parking garages. It was 10 pm, and I was buried under a mountain of work: packaging findings from 25 customer calls into our standard format and building a TAM. Five hours later, after painstaking synthesis and fruitless attempts to tap into Bain’s huge institutional knowledge for market data, I was exhausted.
