Whether for health, religious or personal reasons, many people seem to be considering their relationship with alcohol. While they might not necessarily be forgoing the stuff altogether, they may be reassessing the role it plays in their lives, and being more mindful about their consumption—what, why, how much—as a result. And as more people join the sober curious movement in an attempt to better understand their own connection to alcohol and their own thoughtful enjoyment—or not—of it, they’re looking for places to go to commune with others who are also interested in socializing and connecting without requiring all the booze that may have previously come aligned with them. In Issue No. 06–Summer 2024, writer Janice Williams speaks to pros like Laura Silverman of Zero Proof Nation, Derek Brown of Positive Damage, Inc., Chris Marshall of Sans Bar and Sam Bail of Third Place Bar and explores the needed rise of non-alcoholic bars, or innovative third places that offer a safe space to connect with others while still giving that classic and familiar “where everybody knows your name” experience, with beautiful illustrations by Eline Veldhuisen to match. 🔗 Check out https://lnkd.in/ehiTT-Ae for more of this wonderful read today, or enjoy a glass of whatever makes you happy alongside this beautiful print feature and more delicious drinks journalism in Issue No 06–Summer 2024, available now at full-pour.com and always shipped free within the U.S. And cheers to living life to the fullest, no matter what fills your cup! 🥂 #fullpour #allthedrinks

Lynnette Marrero has seen some spirited things. 🍸️ As a decades-long bar and hospitality industry veteran, she has seemingly done it all—she’s been behind the stick at some of NYC’s hottest spots, worked alongside many of mixology’s greats, opened locales of her own, consulted at others, started a female-focused spirits competition phenomenon called Speed Rack, hosted a MasterClass and created a ready-to-drink bevvie brand, House of Delola, with Jennifer Lopez. Yup—JLo. Clearly, Marrero’s got some serious skills and knows just how to use them. But unlike some other icons of the industry, Marrero isn’t all about Marrero. Actually, very little of it is ever just about Marrero, but more about what the bartending guru can do to give back in enduring and meaningful ways. Editor and Publisher Lauren Buzzeo had a chance to catch up with the master mixtress to chat about her experiences, how she’s seen bar culture evolve and what the current beverage landscape says to her and our drinking future. ➡️ Check out the full interview at https://lnkd.in/ercfxqtD … Or, enjoy going analogue and catch the interview plus more delicious drinks storytelling in the gorgeous print pages of Issue No. 06–Summer 2024, available now with free domestic shipping at full-pour.com/shop! #fullpour #allthedrinks

As hard as it may be to believe today, there was a time in the recent past when hardly anyone cared about American whiskey in general and bourbon in particular. In fact, bourbon’s nadir may have been reached a mere half-century ago, and twenty years later, people still weren’t much bothered about the stuff. It took a further decade before change was finally afoot. Following years of stagnation or decline, bourbon volumes began to rise, largely fueled by premium and super-premium brands. You could still buy Pappy Van Winkle 23-Year-Old at retail without standing in a line or holding a lottery number, but the golden age of American whiskey had definitely begun. If you consider the periods immediately before and after 1995 to be the slow decline and glorious rebirth of American whiskey, we are now settling into what might be termed bourbon’s third act. Call it maturation, if you will, or perhaps more accurately, evolution. But without doubt, it's a delicious time to be a bourbon lover. 🥃 Drinks writer Stephen Beaumont takes us through bourbon's journey to stardom, and highlights some of the innovators such as Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace Distillery, Rabbit Hole Distillery, Chattanooga Whiskey and more that continue to push the category forward today. ➡️ This one's best served in print, baby! Catch the full story in the beautiful pages of Issue No. 06–Summer 2024, available now at your favorite magazine retailer or at full-pour.com (with free domestic shipping!), and get ready to drink in all the issue's tasty reads while supporting independent journalism. 🥂 #fullpour #allthedrinks

Leaning into its rich legacy while leveraging curiosity and collaboration, the Northern California wine region of Livermore Valley is flourishing once again. Behind this current winemaking renaissance is a pedigree that dates to the 1800s. In the 1840s, Robert Livermore planted the first commercial vines here; decades later, winemaker James Concannon planted the first Cabernet Sauvignon in the state, while his contemporary, Carl Wente, planted California’s first Chardonnay. Today, around 80 percent of these two planted varieties in California can be traced back to these mother vines. But despite its strong vinous history, the #LivermoreValley came to be overshadowed by other #CaliforniaWine regions. That’s changing. 🙌 While trailblazers Wente Vineyards and Concannon Vineyard remain the largest producers, and Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon still dominate, in the past few decades, Livermore has grown from 11 to 41 wineries—with exciting results. In Issue No. 06–Summer 2024, writer Kelly Magyarics, DipWSET takes us on a journey through the Livermore Valley's past, present and future to discover the importance of and vast magic behind this historic American wine region. 🔗 For a taste of the Full Pour goodness now, check this awesome article out at https://lnkd.in/e3f5jMF9 But there's really nothing like reading this and so many more delicious stories in a beautiful print package, so pick one up today at full-pour.com/shop and support all the tasty independent drinks journalism. Raise a glass to variety and innovation, friends! 🥂 While plain Jane water may not call for a culture of ritual and gathering, drinking anything uplifting—alcohol, but also coffee, tea and now cannabis—is ultimately more enjoyable and healthful when done in moderation, with food and friends. And thankfully, there are more delicious options than ever for every type of drinks enthusiast. 🙌 For those looking for a tasty sip with a bit of a buzz but minus the booze, an increasing number of cannabev producers are making libations that echo and honor classic drinks culture. These infused beverages make it clear that you don’t need alcohol for a drink to pack a familiar flavor punch, and show there’s plenty for wine, beer and spirit lovers to enjoy without the traditional proof. In Issue No. 06–Summer 2024, writer Kathleen Willcox explores the current state of wine, beer and cocktail-like canna-infused alternatives, and how to get your favorite drink fix on in totally new way. 🔗 Check the full story out at https://lnkd.in/gMUPA6FG and while you're there, pick up a copy of the Summer 2024 issue (with free domestic shipping!) for this and loads more independent drinks journalism. Cause reading is fun... and delicious. 🤤 #fullpour #allthedrinks

The concept of craft beer was born from the idea of small, independent brewers utilizing regional resources and customs to innovate off tradition and create something wholly new and personal. While rebels have always been out there, American craft brewers really took that notion and absolutely ran with it before the turn of the century, riffing off classic styles and playing with various non-Reinheitsgebot ingredients to create a wildly varied and utterly delicious beer scene. People noticed and embraced all of the possibility out there. And so, we've also watched in wonder as this mindset and methodology has taken serious hold across the world, leading to exciting creations and new beer scenes ready to shake up our expectations and taste buds. There's never been a better time to be a beer lover. 🍻 In India, pioneering independent brewers are now shaping a new craft-beer culture all their own. From Delhi to Kolkata, Goa to Bengaluru, India’s first generation of craft brewers are not content with resting on the laurels of their American and European counterparts—instead, they are bringing completely new flavors into the world of beer, brewing up the likes of Karvanda Gose, Jaggery Ale, Indrayani Rice Lager, Kala Namak Jamun Ale and Bajra Beer. In Issue No. 06–Summer 2024, writer Ruvani De Silva takes us on a deep dive into how experimentation, innovation and an embrace of sustainability through the use of local ingredients as well as relationships with farmers and agricultural organizations are driving the unique position and success of India's craft beer story. Get ready for a big, delicious sip of inspiration. ➡️ There's nothing like reading this beauty in print, so head to your fave mag retailer or full-pour.com to grab a copy today and enjoy this story plus so much more delicious independent drinks journalism. The rise of tequila and mezcal in American bars is a success story for the ages. In fact, entire bars have popped up dedicated to agave spirits, and overall, the category is expected to outsell vodka in U.S. bars in 2024, per hospitality engagement platform Union. But with that surge in popularity, it might then be easy to forget there’s a varied world of alcoholic beverages crafted in Mexico to explore. While the agave category is rich and diverse, it’s time to start sharing the spotlight. 🇲🇽 In Issue No. 06–Summer 2024, writer Courtney Iseman encourages us to delve deeper into Mexican spirits and liqueurs not made from agave, or that are looking beyond agave for inspiration. This one’s available in full online, so get your read on at https://lnkd.in/e5Pn-M6f Or, pick up a copy of the Summer issue for this and more delicious independent drinks journalism, out now at your favorite magazine retailer or at full-pour.com/shop (with free domestic shipping!). 🥂 #fullpour #allthedrinks
