5 Key Considerations When Choosing a 3PL Partner for Your E-commerce Brand As your e-commerce business grows, selecting the right 3PL becomes crucial. Here are some factors to keep in mind: 1. Scalability: Look for a partner who can handle your current volume and accommodate future growth. Flexibility is key. 2. Technology Integration: Seamless integration with your e-commerce platform can significantly boost efficiency. Don't overlook this aspect. 3. Specialization: Consider 3PLs with experience in your product category. Their expertise can be invaluable. 4. Geographic Reach: Think about your customer base. Strategically located warehouses can reduce shipping times and costs. 5. Value-Added Services: Look beyond basic pick, pack, and ship. Additional services can help set your brand apart. Remember, the cheapest option isn't always the best for long-term growth. Focus on finding a partner that aligns with your business goals and can support your expansion. What other factors do you consider crucial when selecting a 3PL partner? Share your thoughts below! 📦

Helping exceptional founders build great companies in optimized supply chain, smart manufacturing, and commerce enablement

Chatted with a brand late last week which was reviewing pricing proposals from two separate 3PLs. One of the proposals was extremely clear while the brand owner had several questions on the other. After chatting through the quote with the 3PL he was confused by, he felt he still had no idea what he was going to be charged for. Takeaway: it doesn't matter how low your pricing is if a brand owner can't actually digest what they are being charged for.

3PL Owners Speed of following up > Speed to close Hugely important to send a follow up email directly after you have been introduced and/or have a call with prospective customer. The speed at which you follow up directly correlates with close % and how quickly you close the deal. First impressions matter.

This was an awesome episode by Nik Sharma & Moiz Ali on top mistakes DTC founders make and how to avoid them. I would also like to add in "selecting the wrong 3PL partner". I experienced this first hand with my own brands moving through 3 different 3PLs over the course of a year and a half. This WRECKED our growth and at one point I was very close to having to shut the board game companies down. Overarching advice I would give to help you mitigate risk on all of these top mistakes is to find yourself a really great mentor in the space. No, please for the love of God, I am not talking about some of these self-proclaimed "gurus" who post screenshots of other companies ad accounts. Reach out to people that have actually had legitimate success in ecommerce, preferably in the vertical you are building. That being said– I talk shop with probably 10+ board game companies a month right now who reach out to me for everything from manufacturing to marketing to fulfillment. I don't charge anything for this and never will. Why? Well, for one I am a huge board game geek and genuinely love working with other people passionate in this vertical. Two, I've made countless lifelong friends through helping other brand owners out with no expectations of anything from them. If you are struggling growing your brand or even just want another set of eyes on what you're trying to solve for, please don't hesitate to hit me up. Have a great week everyone; let's get this bread 🤜 🤛
