🚗 🚙 The Audi A2D2 dataset, visualized using Foxglove 🚙 🚗 This dataset explores point cloud segmentation that merges semantic pixel data with lidar inputs to precisely label each 3D point, enhancing object detection and classification capabilities. The meticulous calibration process of this dataset delivers reliable, high-quality data by directly measuring and optimizing sensor positions, applying advanced algorithms and real-world recordings to fine-tune camera and lidar alignment, ensuring that models operate with the most accurate and consistent data. In this particular example, we’re using flat color modes for the different point clouds to reduce visual noise and enhance the visibility of distinct structures, making it easier to identify and differentiate between various elements like vehicles, pedestrians, buildings, and road surfaces. It also simplifies the visual representation of data for quicker interpretation and analysis, especially when focusing on the overall shape and position of objects rather than fine details. This approach is particularly useful in environments with dense or overlapping data, where clarity is essential for accurate analysis.Flat color modes are also generally less computationally intensive than more complex rendering techniques, leading to faster rendering times and more efficient use of computational resources, which is advantageous when working with large datasets or in real-time applications. The Audi A2D2 dataset was created by a diverse, multi-disciplinary team tackling major challenges in AI, robotics, and autonomous driving, driven by a culture of openness and collaboration. We’re just hours away from opening the doors to the very first Actuate conference! A conference focused on autonomous robotics development from prototype to production. #Actuate2024 sold out weeks ago, and before we even kick things off, we’ve learned two big lessons: 1. We need a bigger venue. 2. We need two days. The response has been overwhelming, and there’s so much valuable information to share. We’re incredibly grateful and humbled by the support from the robotics community. Our sincerest apologies to those we couldn’t accommodate this year, but we’re committed to making #Actuate2025 even bigger and better. To celebrate, we also launched a new website this morning, showcasing the people behind the incredible robots that are entering the mainstream market and transforming our everyday lives. It’s you, us, and our shared ambition to drive automation and make a meaningful impact on the world that brings all of this to life. Thank you to the incredible teams at Wayve, Dexterity, Inc., Simbe, Chef Robotics, Third Wave Automation, Aescape, and Saronic Technologies for sharing photos and footage of real engineers utilizing Foxglove to visualize and manage all your multimodal data and accelerate your robotics and embodied AI development. 🙌 Check out the two new case studies that launched with the website: 1. How Dexterity, Inc. saved hundreds of thousands and accelerated development using Foxglove. 2. How Simbe leverages Foxglove to scale across thousands of retail locations globally. Looking forward to seeing many of you in person today. Let’s go! 🤖 🦾 🚀

Polymath Robotics is on a mission to make automating off-highway vehicles radically simple. After years at Cruise and now leading Foxglove, this is a mission I fully support and believe in, both on and off the road! I hope you're joining us at #Actuate2024 on September 18 to meet Ilia Baranov, Co-founder & CTO of Polymath Robotics, live. We're days away now!

Have you checked out Foxglove’s extensions repo lately? 🤔 Foxglove offers a powerful suite of built-in panels, data connection options, and robust capabilities to help you better understand multimodal data, debug faster, and accelerate development. However, many users have domain-specific needs that go beyond the out-of-the-box offering—this is where Foxglove’s extensibility shines. You can extend Foxglove’s capabilities with custom extensions to better support your team’s unique workflows. Build bespoke panels, convert custom messages to Foxglove-supported schemas, and alias topic names for easy visualization. 🙌 Custom panel extensions allow you to build an entire panel from scratch. Custom panels can subscribe to messages on various topics, advertise and publish data, and display information in ways that best suit your workflow. These panels are perfect when your visualization or interaction needs are unique and not easily met by Foxglove’s built-in panels. 📩 Message converter extensions allow you to transform messages from one schema to another. By converting messages to Foxglove-supported schemas, you can use Foxglove’s built-in visualization features. For instance, you can convert your custom GPS messages into ‘foxglove.LocationFix’ messages for easy visualization in the Map panel. 💬 Topic alias extensions let you alias topics in your data source to new topics. Foxglove panels can then subscribe to both the aliased and original topics for more flexible data management. You can write extensions in JavaScript or TypeScript and package them into .foxe files. These files can be distributed privately within your Foxglove organization or publicly via the Foxglove Extensions Registry. Link to the docs and the repo in the comments 👇

🛰️ Foxglove 2.13.0 has shipped! 🛰️ Highlight: If you have a self-managed Primary Site, you can now retrieve the path of MCAP files in your data lake using the /lake-files endpoint. This allows direct access to your Foxglove data for custom analysis, machine learning, post-processing, simulation, and more. This release also comes with: 🍫 The Problem sidebar now automatically opens with a ‘Retry’ button when a network issue can be resolved by reloading the data source. 🔊 MCAP metadata for recordings imported via Edge Sites or the Foxglove Agent is now indexed and accessible through the API. 🖇️ For self-managed Primary Sites, the /recording-attachments API now returns lakePath, the path of the object in the data lake. 💜 And much more... Let's go! ❤️🔥 Download link in the comments 👇
