The goal of CVSA's Brake Safety Week is to eliminate roadway crashes caused by braking systems on commercial motor vehicles by conducting roadside inspections and educating drivers, mechanics, large- and small-fleet motor carriers, owner-operators and others on the importance of proper brake inspection, maintenance and operation. About 90% of our orientation can be done online from the comfort of your own home. We will send you links to new hire paperwork, videos, and quizzes, and set you up for a drug screen where you live. Once those steps are complete, we bring you in for the remaining portion of orientation, which cannot be completed online (i.e. road test, Comdata card, direct deposit forms). Our drivers are dispatched the same day, so make sure you bring what you need with you!

There are many reasons why tractor-trailers need to take their time with wide turns: 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐳𝐞: To put it simply, they’re big and need more space to turn. 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡: The back of the trailer follows a different path than the front, so wide turns help to steer clear of any obstacles. 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Wide turns help drivers see better and avoid hitting people or other vehicles. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: Sharp turns can cause the trailer to swing and potentially jackknife, which is dangerous.

Marcus has worked within the trucking industry for 7 years: 4.5 years in Dispatch, 2.5 years in Recruiting, all 7 years with us! He enjoys that no two days or two calls are the same.
