Flagler County Economic Development Department in September hosted industry leaders from seven Northeast Florida counties for the JAXUSA Partnership quarterly meeting and arranged for a tour of Gioia Sails South to boot. “It was such an honor to host this meeting and wonderful to be able to showcase a Flagler County manufacturing success story,” said Economic Development Manager @Dolores Key. “Patrick Moynihan, a Gioia Sales South partner, graciously showed us around the 50,000 square foot light manufacturing plant.” Gioia Sails – originally established in the mid-60s in New England – opened its Palm Coast location in 2007. This past Friday, we dispatched five dedicated team members, including Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord, Communications and Engagement Manager Karen Callahan, M.A., Emergency Management Specialist Lovie Haley, and Flagler County Fire Rescue Lt. Tony Guerin, and Firefighter Paramedic @Savannah Loertscher. Mutual aid is crucial during times of disaster. It exemplifies the strength of community and cooperation, allowing counties to leverage resources and expertise to ensure effective recovery efforts.
