Blue Ghost, meet Blue Marble! Our #GhostRiders captured the beauty of our home planet during another Earth orbit burn. This second engine burn (and first critical burn) adjusted Blue Ghost's apogee (the furthest point from Earth) using just our Spectre RCS thrusters. With just over two weeks left in Earth orbit before our Trans Lunar Injection, our team will continue operating our NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration payloads onboard and capturing science data along the way! #BGM1

From design reviews to preparing for liftoff, Benjamin Tackett has been at the heart of getting Blue Ghost ready for its ride in the sky. A Purdue University alum and Illinois native, Benjamin serves as a Spacecraft Systems Engineer for Blue Ghost. His role focuses on managing the vehicle as a single system, keeping every part of the lander working in harmony for a smooth touchdown on the Moon. #BGM1

Big win for our #GhostRiders! Last night, the team successfully completed Blue Ghost's first burn with our RCS thrusters and main engine, hitting within 2 mm/s of our target delta V on the first try! This burn increased the lander's perigee (the closest point to Earth) and gets us ready for our next critical maneuver. Take a look at these engines firing with invisible plumes in the vacuum of space! #BGM1

As we continue our road trip to the Moon, Firefly's Blue Ghost operations are staffed 24/7 in our Mission Operations Center in Texas. Alongside our Fireflies, we have console members from Deep Space Communications Systems, ASI by Rocket Lab, Space-ng, and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration supporting GNC, orbit determination, comms, vision navigation and payload operations.
