    YES is my answer A mentor of mine and founder of a top-tier consulting firm partnered with Starbucks when they were a $100M private company. This firm was the epitome of problem-solving. No matter the challenge, they said yes. During the mid 2000s. The healthier-for-you movement was in full swing.  Starbucks called. They needed to eliminate trans fats from all their food items. The catch? It had to be done in 60 days. Picture this: Revising recipes, updating packaging, halting deliveries, and coordinating with suppliers—all while Starbucks kept their doors open. Over those 60 days the team worked countless hours, hired numerous trans fat experts and worked across multiple countries. Ultimately, THEY NAILED IT!!!!! It was an iconic moment that made Starbucks a 20-year client. This was one of many deals that led my mentor's firm to an eventual $1B exit. I strive to embody that same "Yes” mindset. The mindset that has the confidence to solve any problem. Sure, I might not always transition Starbucks away from trans fats in 60 days, but I can always help. Typically, Love Island USA airs each evening at 9pm, gripping viewers across the nation. If you look at Twitter (X) between 9pm and 10pm; #LoveIslandUSA is always trending. Watching Love Island is an ‘event’ we all attend, even if you don’t watch it, you know someone who does. Love Island had more applications than top universities and is consistently the most tweeted-about show 😧 B2B companies rely too much on ‘traditional’ marketing, ignoring evolving customer preferences. Over 70% of c-suite members find typical content boring (their words, not ours). The Fiat team comes from both traditional and non-traditional marketing backgrounds, so our ideas often seem unconventional to friends but are loved by clients.     Spending $1.8M on a domain when you have raised $2.5M total? Easy decision! Ok, not really. But it isn't actually as crazy as it sounds. Last week, I got to dive in deep on Avi Schiffmann's purchase of Friend.com with Rebecca Szkutak and TechCrunch. Branding and domain names are two of my favorite topics. Between previous companies I've worked for, my own domain purchases and the 200+ companies we have worked with at Fiat Growth and Fiat Ventures, it is safe to say that I have had the naming, branding and domain name conversation a few times. "It’s kind of like naming a kid,” Harris said. “You get to the point where you say, I almost don’t care anymore; these five names are fine, just pick one and be done with it. In that moment of frustration, be patient and push through. It is very important. Don’t settle on something because it’s easy, because it’s cheap."     Good churn is an opportunity Bad churn is a problem Lets break this down Good Churn: We’ve grown beyond your service but love you and your product Bad Churn: Bad experience with product and/or service. I am leaving Take advantage of Good Churn Things to ask: Are there any other companies in your network that could use our service? Can we build a case-study on our engagement? Can you provide a client testimonial? Note: Make their lives easier. Offer to write the case-study and/or testimonial for your client and have them sign off on it. Bad churn requires a look inward. At Fiat Growth clients rarely leave :) but when they do, we see it as an opportunity to learn Things to consider: Make the off-boarding process a delightful experience Offer to give a discount on final payment for transparent feedback on their experience - create a survey to make it easier My learnings Don’t let your reaction to losing business blind you from the opportunity to learn about your how your business can be/do better All churn is a learning moment we need to take advantage of Clients move from business to business, they can always become a client again - this means churn is a re-selling moment for future business.
