October 18, 1984 - the day FHU’s story began. Today we celebrate our Founders Bob Felsburg, Steve Holt and Arnie Ullevig - entrepreneurs who went into business so they could practice the profession they loved...transportation engineering. 40 years later, we still love what we do and are firmly anchored in a culture of integrity, technical leadership and contributing to the greater good.   We are proud to be 40 and FHUture Ready!  

It's American Planning Association National Planning Month, and we’re celebrating FHU's dedication to enhancing multimodal transportation! Our planners work closely with communities to tackle transportation challenges, prioritizing safety and mobility for drivers, bicyclists, pedestrians, and transit riders. We're especially proud of our team who recently presented Colorado Department of Transportation's new Transit Local Agency Manual, a comprehensive guide for FTA-funded capital facility projects, at the Fall Colorado Association of Transit Agencies (CASTA) Conference. The group led in-depth training about the entire transit capital facility project lifecycle, from project planning to closeout.

October is Pedestrian Safety Month, and with Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to prioritize safety for pedestrians! At FHU, we design streets that prioritize people, ensuring safety and comfort for all mobility needs—whether you walk, bike or scoot. As leaders in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, we aim to make our neighborhoods safe and accessible for everyone, especially during busy times like Halloween. Let’s work together to keep our streets safe for all trick-or-treaters! #PedestrianSafetyMonth

After nearly two decades at their first location, the Omaha team proudly opened the doors to a brand-new office, welcoming the Greater Omaha Chamber, clients, and colleagues! This cutting-edge space is designed to inspire creativity and foster collaboration as our employees take on the next generation of transportation challenges. Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate. We’re excited to continue serving Omaha and the surrounding areas from our new home!

The Sioux Falls team opened the doors to a new downtown office location. Many thanks to the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, the giant scissors and its continued partnership with FHU.
