Welcome home, Affa 💜 The worst feeling is forgetting something you love behind – especially in another continent!! When Julie Speight, a member of the #FedEx customer experience team, heard about a family that returned from Greece only to discover their son’s stuffed animal, Affa, was left behind, she knew she had to help. She supported the Toronto-based family in getting the beloved toy back as quickly as possible. She was there throughout the journey, advising them who to contact when the package contents were mixed up by the hotel in Greece, and keeping an eye on the delivery details to ensure its adventure home was on track. A HUGE, giraffe-sized thanks to Julie who went to new heights to deliver for our customers, who shared their words and photo of appreciation. We’re so happy Affa and Quincy are reunited! 🦒

Drivers representing the FedEx brand had a strong performance at this year’s 2024 National Truck Driving & Step Van Championships. Congratulations to FedEx Freight driver Jackie Reed, who was crowned the National Grand Champion. Jackie has been with us for 32 years and logged over three million miles without an accident. Four other drivers captured National Champion honors, and an additional 13 drivers were among the top finishers in their respective classes. Congratulations to all participants! These achievements demonstrate our commitment to Safety Above All, and I am proud of how that commitment was showcased on a national stage. FedEx was the proud sponsor of the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals 48th Annual Conference hosted in Memphis last week and I was honored to participate in their Gala event Friday night. Our relationship with OBAP spans nearly a half-century and we continue to strengthen our support of their youth programs, providing middle- and high-school students with exposure to the aviation industry and immersive hands-on experiences. I’ve taken great inspiration from retired Captain Albert Glenn, a 44-year veteran of FedEx, who has been an integral part of OBAP for 40 years. I’m extremely proud to help carry on that legacy, working closely with his son, FedEx MD-11 Captain Anthony Glenn, in support of this important organization and our shared mission. By working together and creating unique opportunities, we’re building up the next generation of pilots and other aviation careers for FedEx and the industry.

We are committed to providing opportunities to everyone, and creating a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone belongs. 

I am grateful for an inspiring day with our FedEx team in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area, celebrating their courage, selflessness, and service in the aftermath of the May 7 tornado that devastated their building and community (first picture).   Team members in the building acted quickly during the storm to make sure everyone sheltered, then safely evacuated and shut off gas and water lines once it was clear. Thanks to their outstanding efforts, no one at our facility was hurt. For the past three months they have been operating in other locations and on mobile docks to deliver the Purple Promise for Kalamazoo without missing a beat. And at the team's request to continue supporting their community, FedEx donated to a local food pantry, Twelve Baskets, through our FedEx Cares Community Engagement Fund, which allows team members to nominate local non-profits for grants.   Thanks to this tremendous FedEx team for your dedication, drive, and heart. #teamfedex 

Today, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - ALSAC patient Micah, and 2024 Purple Eagle honoree had his plane dedication ceremony today. ✈️💜 Micah was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia soon after he started Kindergarten in 2022. “He has the most generous, precious heart for people and for kids, and he makes me just want to be a better person myself,” said his mom, Rebeccah. Now 7, Micah stocks his piggy bank with money to help other kids at St. Jude and hopes to be a St. Jude nurse one day.
