Our Enforcement Bureau convened government partners from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom to discuss emerging security and enforcement trends in the communications sector related to national security, data protection, cybersecurity, and transnational fraud, as well as a greater shared commitment to cooperation and collaboration. The group conversation built on existing information sharing and other international cooperation efforts led by Chairwoman Rosenworcel to enhance our common mission to help ensure the safety of our communications networks, and doing so through her fundamental strategy to “deter, defend, and develop: deter bad actors, defend against untrusted vendors, and develop a market for trustworthy innovation.” https://lnkd.in/ehtXGrDU

More like the FC-Sseen a ghost? There are a few spooky telecomms occurrences you might be haunted by. Ghost calls, for example, are calls you receive with no one on the other line. These can be caused by abandoned autodialers, pocket dials, or maybe even a tech-savvy ghost...👻 ‘Franken’stein FMs are radio stations that are transmitted by low-power TV stations but don't broadcast any content. There are only 14 of these living dead radio stations in the U.S. 🧟♂️ Dead zones are a fear of many - an area where cell service is disrupted and you can't connect out. Though there may be several causes for these connectivity wastelands, it can be dangerous to find yourself wandering a dead zone. 😶🌫️ Howling at the Moon? Well, it might howl back now that the FCC has started issuing licenses for lunar communications, with the first such license issued for the robotic lunar lander. 🐺 🌘

Consumers deserve quality support and should be able to easily cancel subscriptions, talk to live customer service representatives, and consent to or decline automatic service renewals - and these options should be accessible to individuals with disabilities. We will conduct a review on customer support offered by broadband, cable and phone providers to explore solutions and improvements to these issues. https://lnkd.in/eQEWie-V

At the October Open Meeting, we: • adopted new rules establishing that 100% of all mobile handsets—such as smartphones—must be compatible with hearing aids. • approved rules that would require all U.S. wireless carriers to implement georouting for calls to the 988 Lifeline. • shared updates to maternal health data in the Mapping Broadband Health in America platform. https://lnkd.in/eE5x9BrN
