One of our studio values is "Have Fun Along The Way" - we all got into game development because we love playing games, and we believe that making games should be as fun as playing them. That's why we set aside dedicated time as a studio to explore passion projects, creative endeavors, and interesting new experiments. In 2024, Fantastic Pixel Castle will be hiring some artists! First among these, we are looking for a principal-level technical artist that specializes in procedural content generation for our fantasy MMO, code-named Ghost. One of our major features involves having randomly generated maps for some of our zones, but we care much more about beautiful worlds that are fun to explore than we do about limitless variety. Later this year, we will also be looking for experienced animators, environmental artists, VFX and environmental concept art. Our studio is fully remote. Earlier this month, I had the awesome opportunity to interview Greg Street, former designer of Age of Empires, World of Warcraft, and League of Legends, about his new studio (Fantastic Pixel Castle) and their debut game, the MMORPG codenamed Ghost. Key responsibilities include: ◇ Procedural Art System Creation and Integration We're working on having playable maps that are different every time you play them. This will be a critical role in the creation of our systems and pipeline. ◇ Art Pipeline Development Design and implement efficient art pipelines and workflows that optimize the creation, integration, and iteration of art assets across modeling, animation, lighting, etc. ◇ Tools Development Work individually and with engineers to develop and improve content-creation-friendly tools that enhance the efficiency and quality of the content production pipeline. ◇ Shader and Material Development Collaborate with the graphics team to create visually stunning and optimized shaders and materials that align with the art direction and technical capabilities of the target platforms. ◇ Performance Optimization Identify and address performance bottlenecks related to art assets, collaborating with the team to optimize rendering processes and maintain target frame rates to prepare a project for live content across multiple platforms. #FPC #Gaming #Recruiting
