AvalonBay has been the most incredible partner, consistently supporting our mission—and they always have so much fun doing it! Special thanks to everyone who donated peanut butter, a staple in our food bags for families in need. We are so grateful for your generosity!

We so grateful to Lorena L. Hughes and the Orange County Paralegal Association (OCPA) for hosting a food drive this weekend at their 38th Annual Educational Conference to support our pantry! With the number of families visiting our pantry steadily increasing since January, OCPA’s dedication to community service and ethical responsibility truly makes a difference. Thank you, OCPA, for helping us fight hunger in our community! Want to get involved? You can organize a food drive at your office to support families experiencing hunger. Every contribution counts! We’re thrilled to have U.S. Bank as the presenting sponsor of our upcoming Light Up the Night Gala on Sept. 7th, celebrating 40 years of housing families. This week, part of their incredible team took time to volunteer in our food pantry, bringing smiles and great energy. U.S. Bank is deeply dedicated to strengthening communities through various philanthropic initiatives, including financial education, affordable housing, and workforce development, and we're extremely grateful for our ongoing partnership.

    District Manager at U.S. Bank

Based on the smiles, I’d say this was a successful offsite ‘meeting’ with my U.S. Bank district team. Families Forward was the perfect place to volunteer a few hours helping prep their food assistance program (just one of many services provided to strengthen Orange County families). Thank you Yasmine Akil for coordinating our visit! Props to Joseph Rasuli for your board service and to Davina Samuel and MinhThy Vu for arranging this event! #CommunityPossible #usbanklife

Last week, the OCG #HousingIssueTable was honored to tour the Bungalows in Costa Mesa, a new n 8-unit, in-fill, affordable housing development situated in a predominantly multi-family residential neighborhood. This project is managed by Families Forward and will provide permanent housing and supportive services for up to eight households (up to 34 people) earning at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (i.e. $67,750/yr for a household of four). A local preference for all eight units will be given to homeless and at-risk households with strong “Live, Work, School” ties to Costa Mesa throughout the 20-year affordability period. 🏠 At OCG we seek to provide learning and education opportunities for funders around a variety of topics, and most importantly, encourage cross sector learning and connection among #funders and #nonprofits. Thank you Families Forward for hosting us!
