Last Saturday, our team was incredibly proud to host THE Pharrell Williams at his former home, Atlantis Apartments, which is owned and operated by Fairstead! 🚀 During the event, Fairstead was thrilled to provide residents with an “Over the Moon” LEGO set, which even features the words “Atlantis Apts” on the product and reminds our community of the power of imagination. 👟 This wasn’t just a homecoming for Pharrell, it was an opportunity to give back. After providing remarks, Pharrell also announced the surprise distribution of more than 200 Adidas Sambas sneakers for every resident in attendance. 🤝 It was a memorable day for our community to say the least, but more than that it reflected Fairstead’s commitment to supporting our communities and fostering partnerships that positively impact our incredible residents. Thank you to Pharrell, the LEGO Group, and adidas for your support throughout this special day. We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our brand-new Mid-Atlantic HQ located in Washington, DC! Over our first 10 years as a company, we’ve experienced strong growth across the Mid-Atlantic region – including in Maryland and Virginia. As we move our team from Bethesda and into downtown DC, our new office will help us better service this area and bring us closer to our essential partners in government. In a roundtable discussion focused on net zero buildings, our team talked about the importance of innovation and leadership when it comes to creating efficient neighborhoods. Their conversation was joined by other leading companies at the conference, such as Nuveen Green Capital, and it helped paint a vision of an exciting future for the built environment. We’re excited to share that Fairstead has been granted a Leading Edge award from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP) at our Courtview Towers property in Florence, Alabama!   This award will support our efforts to achieve NGBS Gold certification and reduce carbon emissions at the property, helping us to ensure that our communities are more sustainable and resilient to extreme weather events.   Thank you to our partners at HUD and everyone on our team who helped make this award possible. Fairstead’s very own Desiree Andrepont, Director, Investment Management, recently shared her insights on the evolving affordable housing policy landscape at Bisnow's New York Affordable Housing Conference in New York City.    Desiree shared her expertise in a conversation with industry leaders on a panel titled “Alternative Development Opportunities: 467M Conversion Program & City of Yes.” With an eye on addressing the housing affordability crisis, Desiree shared her insights on how the industry can strengthen communities under these new policies and proposals.   Desiree’s participation highlights Fairstead’s commitment to working with our government partners to find innovative ways to promote affordability in New York that improves outcomes for our residents and our communities.    #fairstead10 #affordablehousing #newyorkcity
