  • https://lnkd.in/gz-T-ESH For 25 years FACE has remained a trusted source for low-cost spay/neuter, vaccination and preventative services for Indianapolis dogs and cats. We have been able to remain low-cost and mission-focused thanks in part to generous donors like you. We are privileged to have reached many milestones over the past 25 years, such as completing more than 313,000 spay/neuter surgeries, which includes more than 23,000 community cats. We have held seven pop-ups in public parks, bringing our vaccination services to the public at a significantly reduced cost. We expanded our building to facilitate more service capacity. We added a heartworm treatment program to our service list. Will you continue to support our success heading into the next 25 years with a donation today? Your investment in spay/neuter will: 1) Keep our prices as low as possible, ensuring access for the entire community. Without philanthropy, our prices would rise, and families would be left behind. 2) Take care of the people providing this essential service. Our employees deserve health insurance, paid time off, professional development, and state-of-the-art equipment. 3) Provide education to clients so that they understand the benefits of spay/neuter and adhering to a vaccine schedule. They will be empowered to take care of their pets. 4) Help us continually improve the quality of care that we provide by supporting new drug protocols and purchasing the most efficient technology on the market. 5) Continue to maintain and grow a healthy, sustainable organization that provides spay/neuter, vaccines, and preventative care. This will result in less euthanasia of companion animals. With your continued generosity, we will ensure successful outcomes for Indianapolis dogs and cats as we begin our next 25 years of vet care. Thank you for celebrating our mission with a gift today. https://lnkd.in/gz-T-ESH

  • Will you help us celebrate 25 years of care to Indianapolis dogs and cats with a donation today? https://lnkd.in/gz-T-ESH This summer marks the 25th anniversary of FACE opening the region’s first high-quality, high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic, and we asked Anne and Debbie, founding FACE board members, to reflect upon our inspired beginnings. In the early 1990s, more than 22,000 healthy dogs and cats were being euthanized in our community because there was nowhere for them to go. Responding to this crisis, a group of advocates worked to raise awareness about the unnecessary euthanasia happening to dogs and cats who were surrendered or stray animals brought to the city shelter. They encouraged residents to contact their elected officials and demand action. They were advocating for high-volume spay/neuter services and were unable to convince anyone else to open a spay/neuter clinic. Slowly, a plan developed. "If no one was going to do it, we would open our own clinic!" “Believe it or not, there was a lot of opposition to our plan. Some animal welfare advocates didn’t think that high-volume spay/neuter was the best way to solve the problem. There was a lot of concern that people wouldn’t want our services,” said Anne. But the group of FACE founders were confident in the efficacy of spay/neuter efforts and the public’s willingness to support it. And they were certainly right! Since opening our doors in 1999, we have provided spay/neuter services to more than 313,000 animals. We’ve added a vaccine clinic, pop-up clinics, a community cat program, and heartworm treatment. We currently employ six veterinarians and have a total team of 41 people. “We’ve come so far and done so much. However, I remain worried. All of the rescue organizations are full. The shelters are full. The public is advised against picking up stray dogs because there is nowhere to take them. People still support the market created by irresponsible breeders. In some ways, this feels more dire than the situation in the 90s,” said Debbie. "I am hopeful about the future for cats and dogs in our city. We just need to keep working." We are grateful for the community support that you have been giving for more than 25 years. And we encourage you to help us keep spay/neuter accessible. Send a gift today and help support the next 25 years of work for Indianapolis dogs and cats. https://lnkd.in/gz-T-ESH

  • Will you continue Bob Barker’s legacy and donate to our spay/neuter efforts at FACE? https://lnkd.in/gz-T-ESH   To celebrate 25 years of vet care for Indianapolis dogs and cats, we’re digging through our archive and sharing some of the treasures we uncover, like this promotional video made by Bob Barker himself.  Before FACE opened its doors in 1999, we needed funding to build our facility and meet the euthanasia crisis head-on. With assistance from Bob Barker, we were able to raise $180,000, triggering an additional $20,000 donation from Bob Barker’s DJ & T Foundation.    Prior to opening, there were no high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinics in the Indianapolis area, prompting FACE founders to start their own! 25 years later and FACE has significantly impacted the euthanasia rate in Indianapolis by completing more than 313,000 spay/neuter surgeries.    As Bob says in the video, “It’s cheaper to fix them, than it is to kill them.” Donate to FACE today and be a part of our mission to keep dogs and cats happy, healthy, and with their families.    https://lnkd.in/gz-T-ESH

  • Our friends at Bedel Financial Consulting recently brought a volunteer crew to help with a number of tasks at our nonprofit clinic. In addition to easing the burden of our hardworking staff, they also received an eye-opening tour of our clinic operations. It was a Spay Day during their visit, so a highlight was the visit to our cat room where a number of highly active kittens were providing post-anesthesia entertainment. Interested in volunteering at our clinic? We have individual, group, and corporate options available. Visit our site at https://lnkd.in/gWurddRX, fill out the volunteer application, and we'll be in touch! Thank you Bedel Financial Consulting for contributing to our mission to reduce unnecessary euthanasia for Indianapolis dogs and cats!

  • The weather has cooled in our area, but the risks of death from heat inside a car still remain. This moving PSA from C.A.R.E Companions and Animals for Reform and Equity addresses both heat dangers and stereotype dangers.

“This PSA is about killing stereotypes and expanding the narrative of the perception of typical pet owners in our country. Often the heroes are Caucasian, and the villains are members of the BIPOC community. Animal lovers and caring pet owners are of all races.” says James Evans producer and founder of CARE in K9 Magazine. Watch the Video Here: https://lnkd.in/e6PVc6rm

  • FACE was recognized at last night’s City-County Council meeting in celebration of 25 years of care to Indianapolis dogs and cats. A resolution, introduced by Councilor Crista Carlino and co-sponsored by Councilors Nick Roberts, and Jesse Brown, was presented to FACE Executive Director Jen Hancock, with board members, staff, and volunteers present. The resolution details our work to drive down the euthanasia rate in Indianapolis since our doors opened in 1999 as a high-quality, high-volume nonprofit clinic. In addition to our spay/neuter and vaccination services, our pop-up clinics and Spay Days were recognized as well. After 25 years of vet care, FACE Low-Cost Animal Clinic has provided spay/neuter services to more than 312,000 animals. This total translates into the prevention of an estimated 9 million animals entering our city’s shelter, burdening foster and rescue organizations, or becoming lost. Our work, however, is not complete. We continue to address the pet overpopulation crisis through our spay/neuter, vaccination, and preventative services every day. We have made great progress keeping dogs and cats with their families after 25 years of high-quality, high-volume vet care, but we strive to find creative solutions to pet overpopulation heading into the next 25 years. Thank you to the city of Indianapolis for recognizing our efforts as a nonprofit clinic, and thank you to our donors, partner organizations, board members, staff, and clients for contributing to our success for Indianapolis dogs and cats.

  • Working at our nonprofit clinic is rewarding, but the high-volume nature of our work can become tiresome at times. To offset some of those stresses, we create an environment where everyone can get together and relax. For example, we recently held a summer kickoff carnival at our facility where employees could hang out, win prizes, play games, and deliver a pie to select coworkers. It was a beautiful day to take a needed break from the demands of our work, and come back ready to care for the hundreds of animals that enter our facility every day.

  • Today is our first Spay Day of the season! Now that warm weather has allowed for safe trapping of community cats, we have begun working with our caretakers and community partners to provide spay/neuter services to Indianapolis community cats. Over ten Spay Days, we provide spay/neuter and vaccination services to approximately 100 cats each day. These efforts help keep community cats healthy and manage populations in our neighborhoods. Watch this video to see our work in action!
