Our journey began with a passion for sustainable design and a commitment to transparency. It started small, with shared Google Docs and big dreams. Our sustainable push led us to join forces with bigger firms who shared our vision. This collaboration was a game-changer, creating something larger and more impactful than we ever imagined. Fast forward to 2023, and our collective effort has evolved into the Common Materials Framework. This initiative is now being piloted by major companies, like ecomedes. It's incredible to see how our humble beginnings have grown into a massive framework, driving the industry towards greater sustainability and transparency. The Tanalian K-12 School - a project that’s breathing new life into this vibrant community. 📚🎨 What's so special about this project? It’s all about flexibility and personalized learning. The new design prioritizes ample spaces for individual or small group work, ensuring that every student has an individualized educational plan and meets benchmarks at their own pace. This approach fosters an environment where every child can thrive. Community engagement was at the heart of this project. We worked closely with the residents of Port Alsworth to ensure the school not only met DEED requirements but also reflected the community’s needs and values. The result is a space that is as functional as it is inspiring. From the three-sided additions to the major renovations, every aspect of this project was designed with the students and community in mind.
