“The demand for auto technicians with EV skills and knowledge in our region is continuing to grow...The additional equipment and tools will ensure that all students have access to the resources they need in the classroom.” Mount Wachusett Community College received a $425,000 Skills Capital grant to support their automotive technology program with equipment to expand and upgrade the current program and the planned electric vehicle (EV) concentration, benefiting MWCC undergraduates, Early College Academy students earning college credits while in high school, and incumbent automotive technicians seeking to improve their skills. https://lnkd.in/ebBE3gP3

Congratulations to Jackie, a sophomore at Assabet Valley Regional Vocational School District, studying HVAC, for bringing home a silver medal at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Competition last week! 🥈 Our team was pleased to meet Jackie and her fellow classmates last month when we joined the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education to announce new Skills Capital Grants. When she graduates high school, Jackie plans to enter the workforce as an HVAC technician and contribute to Massachusetts' clean energy and sustainability goals. 👏

Child care is central to the success of Massachusetts. We are committed to supporting the full mixed-delivery system, which is why the Healey-Driscoll Administration awarded $2.5M for family child care programs to support space improvements and build program capacity.
The Administration announced today the state’s first program dedicated to supporting family child care programs’ unique capital needs as small businesses through a partnership between EEC and MassDevelopment. Through this new Family Child Care Capital Grant Program, providers who are homeowners can apply for up to $25,000 to support space improvements and build program capacity. The application is open, with $2.5 million in funding available. Learn more in the press release: https://lnkd.in/e5JWBSpw #CapitalFunding #ChildCare #FCCPrograms #News
