The Excelerate Energy team had a busy week of engagements at #UNGA79 and New York #ClimateWeek. We engaged with Heads of State of Argentina, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Vietnam, and hosted a working lunch with a ministerial delegation from Finland. Excelerate executed a new Strategic Partnership Agreement with PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC), a subsidiary of PETROVIETNAM. Our team participated in timely conversations about energy infrastructure, carbon accounting, and the critical role of natural gas in the energy transition. Excelerate Energy is excited to announce that Ambassador (ret) Peter Haas is joining the Company as a Strategic Advisor. Ambassador Haas retired from the U.S. Foreign Service on September 27 after 33 years of U.S. government service, most recently as Ambassador to Bangladesh. He will join Excelerate’s Washington office in October.   “Peter understands the intersection of geopolitics and markets, and I am confident that his leadership and experience will strengthen our global team and help us deliver energy security for our customers around the world,” said Steven Kobos, President and CEO of Excelerate.    For more information, please see the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gF3_mQiu

While in New York for the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week, I met with H.E. Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Honorable Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh. In my role as Chairman of the U.S.-Bangladesh Business Council, I had the honor of introducing Dr. Yunus to a roundtable of over 40 business executives. We had a great start to Excelerate Energy’s week at the United Nations General Assembly.  Good to see Oliver Simpson, Excelerate’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer sign our Strategic Partnership Agreement with PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) (a subsidiary of PETROVIETNAM). We are really looking forward to collaborating with PTSC to deliver affordable and reliable energy solutions to Vietnam.     Joining Oliver at the signing ceremony yesterday were H.E. Mr. To Lam, Party General Secretary and State President, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Ambassador of Vietnam to the United States, Mr. Le Manh Cuong, President and CEO of PTSC, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Chairman of the Central Economic Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Chief of Central Party Office, Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), and Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT).     We are excited about Vietnam.  We previously announced a project with ITECO to co-develop a greenfield LNG import terminal in Hai Phong. Excelerate Energy has partnered with Wärtsilä Gas Solutions to purchase a reliquefaction system for retrofit installation onboard one of Excelerate’s FSRUs. The retrofit project will improve the environmental footprint of Excelerate’s operations by reliquefying boil-off gas and returning it back to the cargo tanks, thus reducing emissions and saving cargo at the same time. This week at Gastech 2024, the two companies held a formal signing ceremony to solidify the partnership.   “We are committed to reducing the environmental footprint in all of our operations and this project is a substantial part of that commitment,” said David Liner, COO of Excelerate.   For more information about Excelerate’s partnership with Wärtsilä, see the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/gHUtnigS

Excelerate’s Operations team had the privilege of meeting with US Coast Guard Sector Boston on September 9th. The team discussed Excelerate’s current and future business activity in the Boston area with Captain of the Port, Jamie Frederick and his staff. As an added bonus, we had the opportunity to tour the Coast Guard’s new 154 foot Cutter John Patterson (WPC-1153), which supports their operations in the area. As always, the team was highly impressed by the USCG’s capabilities and professionalism, as well as their support of industry. We are proud to support the USGC through our sponsorship of Coast Guard Foundation activities and look forward to continuing our partnership with the USCG for years to come.  #excerlateenergy #ee #uscg

At the Atlantic Council’s Ninth Annual Central and Eastern European Energy Security Conference, Excelerate Energy’s EVP and General Counsel, Alisa Newman Hood, joined a panel discussing transatlantic trade, energy, and climate policy in an election year.   “Emissions reductions are inherent to our business, but we also don’t want to sit on our laurels and are always looking to deploy new technologies or proven technologies in a new way to reduce the carbon intensity of our operations,” Alisa said.
