Drew University of Medicine and Science, Howard University College of Medicine, Meharry Medical College, and Morehouse School of Medicine - graduate around 50% of America's Black doctors, making them critically important in tackling health equity in the U.S. That's why Bloomberg Philanthropies announced a $600 million gift to help strengthen their futures.

Day 1 of HLTH Europe was a huge success! Leaders across healthcare convened at our ideation workshop where we brainstormed outcomes for women in 5 key focus areas: cancer, brain health, immunology, investment enabler, and reproductive health. The energy in the rooms was palpable and we got to hear some ground-breaking ideas from innovators committed to moving the dial on women’s health. To put that in perspective - if every working age person in Spain decided to switch careers to nursing, they would still fall slightly shy of the global nursing workforce number. Every single person. From Santander to Seville, Barcelona to Bilbao. All nurses. Still about 250,000 nurses short.And despite this, the profession is wildly underrepresented in healthcare discussions. From decision making to funding, leadership to policy. The sector that statistically spends the most time in contact with patients, is able to exert the least influence in decision making. - is it systemic? Habit? Ignorance? Hierarchy? What needs to change to bring more nurse input to the table? To every table?
