✨Grateful to have had the opportunity to speak to the energetic students of the OTD program at Hawaii Pacific University!✨ A huge shout-out to Lauren E. Milton, OTD, OTR/L for his incredible help in organizing the event and Dr. Briana Bonner OTD, OTR/L for her insight and support. It was also a privilege to connect with amazing fellow OTs, Micki Kleven, OTD, OTR/L, ATP/SMS, who is making changes in accessible spaces and sports, and Belinda McLaughlin who is an incredible private practice owner providing insights into business ownership as an OT. Learning from OTs in the entrepreneurial space is always eye-opening, and it reminds me that our work is far from conventional – it's transformative! 🚀 As occupational therapists, we truly have the ability to change lives and change the world. 🌍 By working together, pushing boundaries, and continuing these important conversations, there’s no limit to what we can achieve. 💪 Let’s keep innovating, creating, and supporting one another to make lasting impact. #OccupationalTherapy #OTEntrepreneurs #HPU #Grateful #ChangingLives #OTAdvocacy

✨ Honored and Grateful! ✨ I am beyond thrilled to share that Even Adaptive has been recognized in the Accessibility category at this year's Fast Company Innovation Festival! This honor is incredibly meaningful to me and our entire team as we continue on our mission to create inclusive, accessible products that make a real impact. Being surrounded by so many brilliant minds and forward-thinking companies has truly ignited my passion for taking bold creative swings with Even Adaptive. What an incredible evening at "Every Body Talks"! 🎉 On August 22nd, we had the privilege of co-hosting an empowering and eye-opening event with two incredible women who are breaking down barriers in sex wellness and for people with disabilities. This was not just any conversation with Elizabeth Ashford of Beyond the Beez and Marianne weber of Even Adaptive, interviewed by myself and Nathalia Rojas of No Pressure Networking —it was a bold, refreshing dive into topics often left in the shadows. Thank you to everyone who joined us, brought their curiosity, asked thought-provoking questions, and participated in our candid conversations. We want to also say a HUGE thank you to Bedford Studio for such a beautiful, warm, and welcoming space. Cheers to many more events in the future! 🥂 A huge thank you to Elizabeth and Marianne for leading this conversation with authenticity and courage. Your voices are paving the way for a more inclusive understanding of intimacy. Cheers to more nights of real talk, breaking taboos, and making sure every body has a seat at the table! 🥂 #EveryBodyTalks #SexEd #DisabilityInclusion #Empowerment

Join us and get ready to shake things up with an evening that’s as refreshing as it is empowering! Join us for Every Body Talks, where the taboo gets tossed, and the real talk rolls in. This playful yet impactful event is brought to you by the dynamic trio of Beyond the Beez, founded by @elizabethashford Even Adaptive, and No Pressure Networking, Founded by Maggie Rose Macar and Nathalia Rojas. We’re diving deep into the world of sex education for people with disabilities, and trust us, this is not your average birds-and-beez chat. We’ll be serving up more than just Position guides, Equipment ideas, and education about how disability affects intimacy —think cocktails that tickle your taste buds and desserts that are as sweet as the conversations we’ll be having. Come prepared with your curiosity, questions, and of course, your questions about thigh slings and position enhancing chairs. Whether you’re here to learn, share, or just enjoy a night out with like-minded folks, we promise an evening full of laughs, insights, and perhaps a few surprises. It’s time to mix, mingle, and discuss all things sexy and accessible. Cheers to that! #NYCEvent Link to RSVP here https://lu.ma/xujvhdrq

Yesterday marks my last day at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where I've had the privilege of serving as an Occupational Therapist with the ACS team since 2019. During my time here, I had the incredible opportunity to work through the challenges of the pandemic alongside the Neuro, Stroke, and Oncology teams. I’ve been honored to mentor new OTs, lead the Level II PRN group, and become a clinical expert in mobility technology. From progressing our recommendations for assistive devices, technology, and adaptive clothing to creating innovative QR-coded treatment tools for addressing cognition in acute care, my journey at JHH has been rich with learning and growth. Presenting on patient engagement and de-escalation using OT-specific mental health strategies has been particularly rewarding, as has building strong relationships within and outside the PMR department. The experience of helping the most critically ill patients recover and return to a life of fulfillment is something I will carry with me forever, shaping both my personal and professional life. My decision to leave JHH is deeply rooted in the inspiration I've drawn from my personal diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis and my work with my patients. These experiences led me to create Even Adaptive, a venture dedicated to changing the way people view women with disabilities and chronic illnesses, and breaking down barriers related to disability and intimacy. I'm incredibly excited to dedicate my time fully to Even Adaptive and to continue advocating for accessibility, innovation, and empowerment in our communities. Thank you to my colleagues, mentors, and patients at Johns Hopkins for the invaluable experiences and memories. Here’s to the next chapter! 🌟 #OccupationalTherapy #NeuroRehab #AdaptiveTech #EvenAdaptive #WomenInMedicine #DisabilityAdvocacy #NewBeginnings Thank you to all the wonderful therapists I've met along the way, specifically my Stroke, Neuro, and Oncology friends!
