✨Exciting News from the EMA! ✨ The EMA Board unanimously approved its market policy priorities on April 3, 2024. These priorities reflect EMA's commitment to well-designed environmental markets, which are vital for fostering cost-effective, efficient, and growth-oriented investments. Environmental markets are recognized as essential tools for addressing economic externalities and driving substantial economic development while achieving sustainability targets. EMA’s policy framework is based on key principles of market design that ensure openness, competitiveness, and tradability: Openness: EMA promotes open, non-discriminatory access to production-based incentives, allowing equitable participation for all stakeholders. Competitiveness: EMA supports an environment where both producers and consumers have procurement and compliance choices, fostering a competitive market landscape. Tradability: The emphasis on market-determined pricing and investment signals is facilitated through environmental commodity instruments like Environmental Attribute Certificates (EACs). These principles are designed to establish a dynamic and robust marketplace capable of addressing environmental challenges and encouraging investments in sustainable development. Over the next year, EMA’s Policy Advocacy and Market Principles committee will develop supplemental resources to aid members and stakeholders in their education and outreach efforts. Stay connected as EMA continues to shape a sustainable future together! 🌱 #environmentalmarkets #sustainability #marketdesign #policy #EMA More info: https://lnkd.in/gUB-6NtP
