Intern with MA Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs Master of Arts, Sustainable International Development
This week marks one year at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs! Spending the second year of my masters program as an intern with EEA allowed me to focus my capstone project on indicators of climate resilience within the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program. I am excited to be staying with EEA after having graduated this past May with a Masters Degree in Sustainable International Development from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University! I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working with such an excellent team and be able to build on the projects that I highlighted in my capstone as I transition to my new role as a fellow focusing on project management and climate resilience evaluation!

What's new in the Town of Montague, MA? Commissioner Heiple and MassDEP team joined US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Administrator Cash, U.S. Senator Ed Markey and others at Turner Falls to celebrate nearly $5M in EPA Brownfields grant funding (via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law) for the cleanup of the former #StrathmoreMill complex. Also celebrated was the $2M Community-Wide Assessment grant awarded to MassDEP. This grant will assist the Department in supporting a greater range of #Brownfields assessment and redevelopment by providing technical and financial resources to make Brownfields assessment a statewide priority. 📷 David Foss (MassDEP) #InvestingInAmerica #BipartisanInfrastructureLaw #Brownfields #redevelopment #revitalization #Massachusetts

Must be #TransmissionTuesday. We started the day with news of FERC's acceptance of rules that ISO New England Inc. filed to enable the states to move forward together on key transmission investments needed for the future power grid. Later this morning, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs joined fellow New England states, NY, and Mid-Atlantic states in announcing an MOU for the historic ten-state Northeast States Collaborative on Interregional Transmission. The MOU charts a path forward for the multi-state initiative, with support from the US DOE, to build a more reliable electric grid and drive down consumer costs by expanding access across markets. Been a good day for transmission policy and the clean energy transition! https://lnkd.in/ec-jnxvP
