Texas Small Business Owners! A recent court order has temporarily blocked the new DOL overtime rule for government employees in Texas, but this ruling does not apply to private employers. If you run a small business in Texas, it's crucial to understand and comply with the new regulations. As of July 1, 2024, the salary threshold for white-collar exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) has increased from $35,568 to $43,888 annually. This means employees earning below this threshold must be paid overtime for any hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The threshold is set to rise again on January 1, 2025, to $58,656 annually. https://lnkd.in/gyDZ_nSk
