These pioneers operated ORTHOPUS exoskeletons in Permobil smart wheelchairs using EMOTIV’s EPOC X EEG headsets, paired with Multimodal Cognitive AI Agents™ developed by Inclusive Brains as part of the revolutionary Prometheus BCI Project. Nathalie also used facial expressions as a BCI command, and Denis, who has autism, wore EMOTIV MN8 EEG earbuds to monitor his stress levels among the crowds. "Their achievements are a powerful reminder of how innovation and collaboration can break down barriers and improve lives," says Kim O., EMOTIV Chief Operating Officer. In a commitment to fostering inclusivity, EMOTIV, and its partners will donate exoskeleton arms and EEG headsets to nonprofits supporting individuals with paralysis. When L'Oréal asked if it was possible to tell if someone prefers a particular smell fragrance or not - we said yes. Using EEG technology, we have the ability to analyze the brain’s response to individual scent components—what we call the “base notes” of a fragrance. Much like how music is built from individual notes and instruments, fragrances are a complex blend of different scents. By analyzing how the brain reacts to these core ingredients, we can predict, with impressive accuracy, which fragrances a person will enjoy most. I am incredibly proud of the EMOTIV team that will be presenting at the prestigious KDD 2024 Conference. Special recognition goes to Navid Mohammadi Foumani, our lead author and a PhD candidate, who has been pioneering the application of deep learning to EEG data under the guidance of Dr. Mahsa Salehi at Monash University. Navid, along with co-authors Dr. Mahsa Salehi, Dr. Geoff Mackellar, Dr. Soheila Ghane, PhD, Dr. Saad Irtza, and Dr. Nam Nguyen, has developed a groundbreaking self-supervised architecture, EEG2Rep, which represents a significant leap forward in EEG data modeling. The EEG2Rep model was applied to our Driver Attention dataset—comprising data from 18 subjects during 45 minutes of simulated driving with typical distractors—and achieved an impressive accuracy of 80.07%, the highest to date. This not only surpasses our previous results but also sets a new benchmark across multiple public datasets, including those related to emotional and mental state detection, multitasking, and medical condition diagnostics. This achievement underscores the potential of developing a foundational model for EEG data that can generalize across diverse tasks and applications, pushing the frontiers of EEG analysis. I'm thrilled to publish my new "Zero to Hero" video series, where we'll be building a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) application from the ground up. Yes, we will create an app that allows your brain to communicate directly with a computer! This course is designed to give you a big-picture understanding of neurotechnology and the exciting possibilities it offers. We'll start by building a simple brain-powered interactive system, covering the process end-to-end. Once you grasp the overall concepts, we'll dive deeper into specific areas like signal processing, predictive models, user experience and also discuss the current limitations of the technology. The first project is to decode brain signals to control something fun—a game of Pac-Man. I am going to use devices from EMOTIV and g.tec medical engineering GmbH - NEVER STOP RECORDING for this project. What is neurotourism? This subsection of neuromarketing focuses on researching the consumers' emotional reactions to stimuli, specifically tourist attractions.
