Today is Women's Equality Day, which commemorates the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote in 1920, a significant milestone in the fight for gender equality. Today serves as a reminder of the long and challenging struggle women faced in their quest for equal rights.    Today is also a great day to consider the culture that you have on your team and whether it supports equal rights and opportunities for women and for everyone else, regardless of gender.   Are everyone's voices heard equally? Does everyone get the praise and feedback they deserve? Are there equal opportunities to lead projects or team initiatives?    If you'd like to reflect and perhaps steer your team's culture into a better place, watch our class called "How to Shift Culture on Your Team."   Here's a snippet to get you started. #WomensEquality #Leadership

Do you struggle with public speaking? You're not alone.    According to a study by the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly 75% of people suffer from speech anxiety. We've partnered with the fantastic Justin Michael Williams to bottle this tip and more into our new class, "How to Calm Presentation Anxiety. " Here is one technique that works well: 👉 Shifting the focus from yourself to the value you're delivering.    When you remind yourself that your role is to share something meaningful, inspire, or bring value to others, the nerves start to dissipate. Tell yourself, "I don't need anything from the audience. I'm here to give." This mindset can help you stay centered on what truly matters—making an impact and driving change. Check out the course snippet below and share how you reduce presentation anxiety in the comments. #PresentationPrep #LeadershipSkills

It’s easy to feel alone when you’re trying to manage “all the things” around benefits like ROI, employee satisfaction, budget, and the nitty gritty details. Fear not, there is some great wisdom out there! Lucy Georgiades recently chatted with Matt Watson, Founder and CEO at Origin, and Cara Brennan Allamano, CPO at Lattice, diving deep into the real talk on modern benefits, budget struggles, and how to tackle ROI—topics that are hitting home for HR professionals right now. Here are the top tips for benefits planning: 👉 High-quality, tailored benefits beat quantity Skip the laundry list of average benefits. Focus on what really counts from the employee perspective, like financial wellness and mental health support, plus the essentials, like healthcare and retirement. This streamlined approach not only simplifies communication by focusing on what your employees care about, but also ensures your benefits are impactful and aligned with your organization’s needs. 👉 ROI: start small, measure what matters Measuring ROI in benefits is tricky, but it’s necessary. Zero in on key metrics; we suggest employee retention and hiring close rates (they matter to CFOs!), and assign a dollar value to them - your finance team can help. Then, drive benefit usage by educating employees on why ✨using✨ benefits is so critical to keeping the benefits they love. Then, measure both benefit utilization and the change in the key metrics you identified, and calculate ROI from there! 👉 Leverage vendors as strategic partners Vendors can do more than just supply benefits—they can be key partners in maximizing their impact. Regular check-ins with vendors can uncover new ways to boost engagement and ROI. Their expertise in strategies like open enrollment and communication can maximize the effectiveness of your benefits program. We know the benefits of having supported and engaged managers. But the stats are incredible: Managers account for at least 70% of the variance in employee engagement. Businesses with highly engaged teams experience an 18% lift in productivity. On average, highly engaged teams will experience a 30% improvement in turnover. (Gallup) You probably think you need a dedicated Learning and Development team to achieve these results, but that’s not the case. 👉 Here are the 6 key focus areas our founder Lindsey Nehls shared with the fantastic ChartHop team in this week’s People Ops Weekly: 📝 Set clear expectations: In a fast-paced environment, many managers don't know what they don't know. The first step is providing them with a basic set of management expectations alongside resources and templates. ⚙️ Offer training at critical moments: Map the manager's journey to identify key management milestones – performance reviews, promotion season, hiring, etc. Then, schedule manager training during critical moments. 🕒 Make learning social: Learning together improves knowledge retention, increases employee engagement, and builds strong social connections. 📈 Find managers who want to teach: Without an L&D team, you'll need to lean on volunteers within your organization. 💻 Apply feedback from employees: Dig through 1:1 data and employee feedback to identify management weak spots that can be a target of future training. 📋 Keep people accountable: Regular check-ins help drive learning accountability. The bottom line: Even without a dedicated L&D team, you can still enable managers to help drive your organization's high-performance culture. Get all the details on setting your team up for success in the latest edition of People Ops Weekly linked in the comments. Thank you for letting us share our perspective, Alex Hilleary and the ChartHop team! #LearningAndDevelopment #FutureOfWork #PeopleDevelopment
