As Campus President at Hillsborough Community College’s (HCC) Ybor City Campus, Dr. Baía brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our community. In addition to her role at HCC, Dr. Baía has contributed to Comparative Politics and International Relations through teaching and authoring articles and book chapters. Meet Dr. Daira Avila Barakat, owner of Sunshine Dentistry in Lake Magdalene! Passionate about her profession, Dr. Barakat provides pro bono dental care across Florida and abroad. Immigrating from Cuba at 15, Dr. Barakat was inspired by her mother's dedication to the community through her child care facility in West Tampa.
