pooja chauhan was our first sales development representative in India — she has been embodying the 'Customer, 1st' Source Code tenet since 2018! Today, Pooja is a commercial account manager on the sales team. But she still fields calls from contacts she made in her early days at Elastic. “In India, people actually have saved my number as Pooja at Elastic. People still call me if they have any problems.” Pooja makes sure her customers trust her enough to share their problems with her. This allows her to work with her team and come back to the customer with the best possible solution. “We behave like partners and not vendors,” she says. "There is nothing greater than a good testimonial from someone who has put their trust in a product and paid money to partner with us." Even with her incredible work ethic and focus on Customer, 1st, Pooja makes it a priority to find time for her personal goals and interests too. She appreciates that Elastic is distributed by design, and values our 'Home, Dinner' Source Code tenet which allows for flexibility. She uses her free time to cook — both traditional Indian dishes like curry, and pasta. She’s also an avid reader. Pooja was raised to believe that education and financial independence are the most important thing, something she credits her parents for.
