In honor of Juneteenth, the Black Employee Resource Group at EILEEN FISHER organized a day centered around joy for our employees. At our Irvington headquarters, we enjoyed a live performance by Mala Waldron, pianist and jazz musician, and heard inspiring words from Auzerais Bellamy, founder of Blondery, who shared her entrepreneurial story with us. Attendees were able to enjoy delicious cookies by Blondery and red-colored treats in honor of the day. On this day that represents freedom and equality, we hope you will join us in reflecting on the progress and opportunities to advance equity in our communities. https://lnkd.in/exwutV_K

Global Fashion Agenda recently held its 2024 Summit in Copenhagen, bringing industry professionals together to address the critical intersection of sustainability and fashion. Those in attendance acknowledged the detrimental impacts of apparel manufacturing and shared both successes and setbacks in a collaborative effort to move the industry forward. The subject of transformation was threaded throughout the two days -- transformation of mindset, values, behaviors, and business models. But real transformation (defined as dramatic, profound change, metamorphosis) is no small task. When was the last time you experienced a complete metamorphosis? We know the profound changes needed are not happening at the pace and scale of the growing environmental and social challenges. 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 “I’ll ask the same question I asked 5 years ago - do you care? Transforming ourselves is at the core of any corporate transformation.” Paul Polman, Businessperson and Author “We (the apparel sector) have the solutions…we don’t have the will and that’s what’s got to change.” Ryan Gellert, CEO Patagonia “Collaboration can be a fig leaf for inaction. We are not transforming.” Peder Michael Anker Jørgensen, Sustainable Strategy Advisor “How products are designed is essential, but we also need to look at the bigger picture: How we design our entire business.” eva karlsson, Houdini While large scale transformation remains elusive, there were sparks of change at Copenhagen with the recognition of emerging best practices. Nordstrom recently profiled Eileen Fisher as a part of The Thread - a series that brings the people behind the fashion a little bit closer through intimate conversations about style, connection and inspiration. In the piece, Eileen reflects on her early influences, clothing as a source of joy and the evolution of her company as she celebrates four decades building a legacy to be proud of. "I take pride in our holistic approach to sustainability," says Fisher. "From the materials we use to the takeback program, we're working to help customers become conscious consumers and build a simple, enduring wardrobe."

We’ve spent the last forty years building our line around clothes that are responsibly made, thoughtfully chosen and endlessly worn. Now, we want to help you do the same with your wardrobe. Ask yourself: "Do I really need this?" And read on for some questions you might consider before you make a clothing purchase.
How to Build an Intentional Wardrobe

After years of writing about sustainable fashion, it’s become clear to me that the solution is to stop buying so much. We should keep returning to a few core pieces in our wardrobe — with a couple of exciting pops of color and pattern to keep things interesting. It’s a unpopular notion in the age of fast fashion. But the designer EILEEN FISHER, INC. has been trying to communicate this vision to customers for forty years. Her company also wants to reduce its overall production, which is a wild idea when most fashion brands are obsessed with growth. This month, the brand has launched three tools designed to help customers pare down their wardrobes by focusing on a few essential silhouettes that you can mix and match infinitely to create versatile looks. Can you imagine what the world would be like if all brands were doing some version of this? It’s what I dream about for the future, but it often feels like I’m shouting into the wind.

Iconic. Simple. Essential. Today, we are proud to launch a new campaign featuring The 12 Shapes. They’re all you need to get dressed right now—and the pieces you’ll wear on repeat. We've also just launched two innovative digital tools, designed to encourage a more intentional shopping experience. The Seasonal Planner is a tool that lets you consider your options and make more thoughtful choices. Use it to explore what’s to come and pre-order pieces from the months ahead. You'll end up with more of what you’ll really wear and less of what you’ll regret. And the closet of the future is here. Introducing our new virtual try-on feature, built by Paris-based technology platform Veesual and powered by AI technology. Use the tool to play with proportion, styling, and color. Then choose pieces you’ll wear endlessly. Explore the 12 Shapes and learn more about our Seasonal Planner and The Closet here:

At EILEEN FISHER, we believe everyone should have the right to reproductive freedom. Today, we’re featured as a proud ACLU #DontBanEquality coalition partner on a NYC billboard at 54th and Broadway, calling for the business community to safeguard reproductive healthcare access. Why? Because restricting reproductive healthcare limits us as an employer in promoting workplace equity, building diverse and inclusive workforces, recruiting top talent across states, and ensuring the well-being of our employees, communities, and the economy. Learn more about the campaign and how to get involved here.
