The 'autopilot' shopper. You know who they are: those consumers who come into the store, go right to the product they are looking for, paying no mind to anything else on the shelves. While they are great for sales of that one particular item, they are not great for discovering other new innovations on your shelves or online, unless you take steps to "snap" them out of their autopilot mode. In this interview with ECRM's Joseph Tarnowski, NielsenIQ's Yvonne Buisson shares some insights on the autopilot shopper, and how retailers and brands can grab their attention as they make their way through the aisle or website. Last year ECRM hosted 70K in-person meetings across its 80 category-specific Sessions. But we also provided a massive platform for networking, learning, building relationships and having fun! Educational sessions, roundtables, golf tournaments, bowling, cornhole, pet-cuddling and even Haka and Hulu dancing were among the activities set at beautiful hotels and resorts.
