Radar Reinvented
About us
Echodyne designs and builds advanced radar solutions that unlock new capabilities for intelligent systems and autonomous machines and shatter price-performance barriers for sensor arrays. Our combination of patented metamaterials electronically scanned array (MESA®) technology with powerful software ultimately means significantly greater situational awareness that increases safety and saves lives. Our first radar is the size of a paperback book, weighs less than bowling pin, draws less power than a light bulb, yet outperforms every comparable radar on the market. We are just getting started. Echodyne delivers commercial radar solutions for end users and integrators in Government and Defense, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Autonomous Vehicle markets globally. The company is based in Kirkland, Washington and backed by Bill Gates, NEA, Madrona Venture Group, Baillie Gifford, Vulcan Capital, Vanedge Capital, and Irongrey among others. At the recent SOFEX Jordan event, our long-term partner MARSS Group, a global leader in AI-powered security solutions, celebrated 8 years of collaborating with the Echodyne team. Together, our partnership has gone from innovation to system integration to trusted operations, with MARSS using our radar solutions across its portfolio of industry-leading products – including its NiDAR X Compact air and surface threat detection system, and NiDAR X-Scout rapidly deployable sensing and countermeasures platform, as well as its RADiRguard perimeter surveillance system. MARSS shared that Echodyne has been an ideal partner over the years, as Echodyne radar combines “a uniquely small form factor, low weight, and extraordinary performance” with an “ability to detect, track, and classify UAS with industry-leading angular accuracy – along with other air and surface threats”. We look forward to the years ahead working with MARSS and are thankful for the recognition of the great work and innovation we’ve achieved, together. The future of airport security lies in the development and implementation of comprehensive, multi-layered anti-drone solutions that provide full situational awareness of both ground and airspace threats. As airports navigate the complexities of managing authorized and unauthorized drone activities, the need for innovative, collaborative approaches to security becomes paramount; so, too, does the need for working with an integrator who can identify and deploy the right combination of technologies and services to align an airport’s resources, expertise, and systems. In this co-authored thought leadership article for ACI Airport Council International's Airport World magazine, Echodyne and Siemens lend insight into: - The scope of the drone problem at airports - Ways in which sensors and systems can provide better protection - The future of cooperative airspace. Earlier this year, Echodyne CTO Tom Driscoll sat down with SAE Media Group editor Woodrow Bellamy III on the Aerospace & Defense Technology podcast to talk about how the company’s proprietary metamaterials electronically scanned array (MESA) radar technology is “providing a new approach to surveillance within counter unmanned aerial system (UAS) radar applications." Since the episode aired, Echodyne has announced several key partnerships. > Kongsberg Geospatial partnered with Echodyne on the integration of its EchoShield radar into the Kongsberg IRIS Terminal and IRIS GCS airspace deconfliction solutions. > American Aerospace Technologies, Inc. (AATI) has also partnered with Echodyne to integrate the EchoFlight radar into their AiRanger aircraft that has been cleared by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for commercial Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight (BVLOS) flight operations, one of the first UAS to do so. > BRINC, a company that provides drone technology for first responders, has also partnered with Echodyne to integrate the MESA radar technology into its purpose-built Drone as First Responder (DFR) solution.” Read the full article on C-UAS Hub now and find a link to listen to the podcast within if you missed it >>> Podcast: Metamaterials are Changing the Arrays of Counter UAS Radar #Radar #AirspaceAwareness #UAS #CUAS #DFR #BVLOS
