Looking through the Lenses of Team DPI! 🕶️ The teams at Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) and Phoenix Community Alliance (PCA) love every opportunity to embrace personal style and local flair from head to toe. We surveyed the office and captured all of the funky frames from Urban Eyecare, which is across the street from our office. One of the things we love about DTPHX is its walkability — and you don't have to travel far to find 10/10 frames and 20/20 vision care. If you want to add a pop of personality to your daily eyewear, Urban Eyecare stocks those one-of-a-kind frames that combine fashion with function! This year, Lotería has a new twist with one festive night at Arizona Center on Thursday, September 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. ✨ Everyone is invited to play the traditional game of Lotería while enjoying food from local vendors, music by DJ duo Vinyl Vagos, shopping with Mujeres Mercado, Arizona’s largest Latina market, and a make-and-take craft station for the whole family, hosted by The Crafty Chica. The iconic Elyssa Bustamante of The Funky Latina will be the emcee and game card extraordinaire for the evening. The first 100 attendees will receive a commemorative enamel pin featuring this year’s Lotería art by Jonathan Ortiz. This event is free to attend. We can’t wait to celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month with you! Visit https://dtphx.org/loteria/ for more information and to RSVP for the event.

Erika, how is it possible that seven years have already flown by? You've been an integral part of the DPI team since the beginning, and we wish you all the best in the next chapter of your career. Thank you for all your contributions to our #DTPHX community. 💚 Special thanks to local artist Aileen Martinez for creating this beautiful hand-drawn piece of Downtown. It captures some of Erika's favorite places from Roosevelt Row's past, including Carly's Bistro and Revolver Records.

Did you know that the historic Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette Building in Downtown Phoenix has ties to the 1947 World Series? Built by Del Webb, a well-known developer and co-owner of the New York Yankees, this iconic structure played a key role in Phoenix's media history and has a little-known connection to a legendary moment in baseball history. ✍️ Douglas C. We are excited to announce the debut of Downtown Phoenix’s first digital twin! 🏙️ 🌐 The digital twin was created in partnership with CyberCity 3D, Inc. and it’s essentially a digital replica of Downtown Phoenix as it exists today. The advanced technology will use aggregated data to analyze consumer behavior patterns, potential modifications in infrastructure, climate change, economic activity, and more. It could also inform city planners how to address some of the community’s most perplexing challenges and develop more efficient solutions for the future by getting an in-depth “real-life” look at the data. The digital twin was announced today at Phoenix Community Alliance’s Central City Planning & Development Meeting so developers, city planners, and architects could see firsthand how it will be used in practice. We look forward to sharing how the technology evolves and becomes an exceptional asset for the community. Access to the digital twin is currently available for free to Phoenix Community Alliance Members. For questions and more information, reach out to Downtown Phoenix Inc.'s Business Development Manager, Braxton Hynes at [email protected]

This week, our team ventured underground to tour Cordia's energy-efficient and environmentally sound cooling plant and learn more about its highly dynamic operations. ♻️💧 The company started serving chilled water to Bank One Ballpark (now Chase Field) in 2001. Today, it serves 27,500 tons of chilled water to 44 buildings (and counting) in Downtown Phoenix, including the Phoenix Convention Center, Arizona State University, and Arizona Center. This system encompasses three main plants and two auxiliary plants conditioning more than 12 million square feet of building space via four miles of chilled water pipelines. As our Downtown continues to evolve and grow, it's reassuring to know we have the infrastructure to support it. Thank you for the informative and fun tour, Cordia! After thoughtful consideration and community outreach, we are excited to announce the relaunch of 'We're In This Together,' a new and improved resource guide created to streamline communication between service providers and the Downtown community. New features of the guide include a tree-like diagram with DPI's dehp Outreach Navigator(s) contact information, free meal and shower accessibility options, shelter locations, and cooling center and respite sites provided by the City of Phoenix’s Office of Heat Response and Mitigation. Check out our new logo (you might even see a familiar face!), and let us know how the guide works for you. We're open to constructive feedback and ideas for improvement. Huge thanks to Phoenix Community Alliance's Social & Housing Advancement Committee (SHA)'s direction and support with this initiative. https://lnkd.in/e9k-ed-Q
