Last month, we were hosted on a farm outside Seattle by Freefly Systems for Freefly Fest. Freefly Fest is a great annual one-day event where customers, partners and fans of Freefly gather to learn about the company's latest tech, connect with others in the ecosystem and, of course, watch some drones fly. We were especially excited to see the Astro Prime take flight. The Astro Prime is Freefly's newest NDAA-compliant, Blue UAS-cleared platform, and depends on Doodle Labs' Mesh Rider Radios for resilient connectivity in challenging environments. ⭐ ⭐ = Amol Parikh & Matt Isenbarger

In late August, the Federal Communications Commission adopted new rules to reserve a slice of the 5 GHz spectrum band specifically for operation of UAS. The decision was applauded by AUVSI — Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International and other drone advocates, and is a clear sign that the drone market in the US continues to grow and mature. Doodle Labs' RM-5200 Helix OEM Mesh Rider Radio model supports operation in this newly-reserved 5030 MHz to 5091 band, and we're actively exploring developing access to the band across other models and form-factors.
