Couple of the big ones from this week. I believe all of these hospitals have a hardship policy that says "if your bill exceeds more than x% of your income then you qualify for charity care". The hospital would have to assume these patients are making absurd amounts of money to be sending bills out like this. Thankfully the patients found us. Maybe hospitals should screen their patients better? $227,565 - Medstar Washington Hospital Center, District of Columbia. $550,000 - New England Baptist Hospital, Massachusetts. $46,182 - Palmetto General Hospital, Florida. $29,935 - Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, Texas. $23,689 - Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Tennessee.
