Discovery Isle

Our Kids Helping Communities events come to a close with more schools raising funds to support St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Alex's Lemonade Stand, and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Students also delivered care packages to local law enforcement. Although this initiative is ending, Discovery Isle continues to instill the value of helping others and the impact students can make throughout the year. This summer, our students took an imaginary trip to France! Our creative teachers crafted an epic journey, beginning by participating in the Olympic games and then visiting major landmarks such as the Eifel Tower, Arc De Triumph, and the Palace of Versailles and then constructing them out of various materials. They stopped at French bakeries and tried croissants, baguettes, and madeleines. In the Louvre, they studied famous paintings, created stained glass windows, and hung their own artwork. Our Kids Helping Communities initiative continues to make a positive impact this summer. By collecting clothes and supplies for Gently Hugged and running lemonade stands to raise funds to support Alex's Lemonade Stand to combat childhood cancer, our students are learning firsthand the power each individual has to make a difference in the world.

Each summer, our schools participate in our Kids Helping Communities initiative to give back to others in need. This year, several schools hosted a trike-a-thon to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. They turned the event into an Olympic-themed Tour-de-France adventure, complete with a make-believe trip to Paris! On the day of the Olympic opening ceremonies, everyone joined in a festive parade to celebrate. It was a truly joyous occasion, blending fun with a meaningful opportunity to instill compassion in our students. We appreciate all our families who helped us contribute to such a great cause. #GiveBack #Fundraiser

In the spirit of the Olympics, our schools held their own opening ceremonies, with each classroom representing a different country. Leading up to the parade, students read books about their assigned country, located it on a map, studied its flag, and created artwork, instruments, and hats inspired by the country’s colors. Many wore their country's colors and fun was had by all as they marched around the school! #Olympics
